Been 3 times in last month fish undercooked, batter not cooked through and chips it was hard to say as they looked like scraps full of hard bits won?t be back this used to be a great chippy but for the price there are better around

Excellent fish & chips here, and a vast menu of other dishes. If it was good enough for Jimi Hendrix when he bought fish & chips here in 1967, it was good enough for me. Give it a try when in Tynemouth.

Great chippy. It was very full at 1.00 but went back at 2.00 and got a table. Great fish and chips, curry, and Dandelion and Burdock. Heaven.

was in the empty shop and got kicked out because 1 of us didn't have some food. tbf the food was mediocre could tell oil hadn't been changed in decades. do not comr here. fish kitchen is was better got loads of dirty looks aswell. put me off my food which the drowned in vinegar after asking for no vinegar if you want vinegar soup, come here.

I used to bring a group of blind people here years ago for regular summer outings, and they always loved the place. I'm glad to say I?m still a regular visitor 25 years later ? though now it?s with a fussy child instead!
She?s very particular about chips from different places but loves them from here. And to top it off, she doesn?t sit and peel the batter off her sausage like she does elsewhere when it?s too hard ? a small victory! ?
Even on a cold day, you can still sit inside. The food comes in cardboard rather than on a plate with a knife and fork, but I?m not a snob, so that doesn?t bother me ?
The tables are always cleared of rubbish, and I?ve seen staff cleaning them regularly too. It?s a place that?s kept its charm and quality over the years.

Diabolical. Service for the queue was 45 mins and seemingly worth it given how popular it was. A real lack of communication at the front desk and only one fryer were working at a peak time.
The fish was flakey and chewy due to being overcooked whilst the chips were pale due to being undercooked.
Just avoid.

Amazing food. And great option for fish lovers and not alike. The batter and chips weren't overly greasy even though they were obviously freshly cooked. If you are looking for a decent chippy give it a go!
The black pudding is freshly made and it's a whole sausage battered, rather than slices. The picture below is jumbos sausage l, and black pudding r to show the sizes.
(The gravy is not to be missed).
