Important resource for sunderland. Don't think they have a cleaner that looks at floors or the toilets, or refills loo roll. Dirty, not what you'd expect. Whoever cleans, needs training - dread to think what thei own house looks like.

Lovely coffee, friendly service and nice atmosphere. The only let down is the disgusting toilet; there was no toilet paper, no hand soap and the stains everywhere gave the impression it has not been cleaned for weeks.

My sons and I are (now were) regular customers of Waterstones, not only in Sunderland. I called in today (29th August) to purchase the new Wilbur Smith book, Fire on the horizon, when I enquired if it was going to be discounted like many new novels in the shop window... I was shouted at, in front of other customers, by a very rude and belligerent elderly female sales assistant, 'that it will never be discounted'. A fantastic advertisement for people to use Amazon. I'll never shop in Waterstones again
