Held a birthday party at Lush Sunderland yesterday for my daughter and her friends. 4 of the group have Down Syndrome and the hosts Jess W and Olivia couldn?t have been more accommodating and inclusive. They kept everyone engaged and made it one of the best partes we?ve ever been to. Couldn?t recommend them highly enough.

Went in to the Sunderland store this afternoon and my daughter was making bath bombs with Olivia. Olivia was so friendly and helpful throughout the visit even giving us lots of information about birthday parties.Olivia talked about leaving school in the summer and chatted about hobbies with my daughter. What a wonderful young lady she is and an absolute asset to the Sunderland store.

I approached Lush (Bridges, Sunderland) with no knowledge of what would lie ahead. So many people who worked there approached me with their elite customer service skills but I was a shy puppy, the words "SNOW FAIRY" blaring through my brain as your staff approached me like a Red Cross worker. One individual alerted me of the scarf/bandana situation, but the thought of walking out into the Sunderland nightlife like Paddington Bear with a stick and a bit cloth, gave me a shudder. I was then shown the boxes you can purchase to fill up with quite a few goodies, £8? Not so bad. "Quite a few", very scary.I pondered and plodded and wondered and wandered, till I approached Olivia, which is where the tale truly takes a turn. She offered quite generously to help fill my box (stop it) with Lush products, the first of which I chose happened to be quite expensive, but Amy (wor lass) is worth it. Had to get that out there.Snow fairy is always the main course, but there's only so much I can take so I branched out to other things, which Olivia recommended, such as CBD rub (more on that later) lavender scented candles and sprays, lip balms and bath bombs. I was sweating from a physical standpoint. Mentally and financially arthritic. Every addition giving me The Fear."Dad, why didn't you get me a garage for Xmas?""Well, Teddy me lad, it all started in Lush, December 15th...."So my gift box is fullish, there's a couple of canny items at the counter, very cheap, stocking fillers. Better pad it out a bit more. Another individual capable of producing pain and reducing an emotionally weak man to tears, enters the fray in the form of Rebecca (so the name tag says).A tag team like no other, eat your heart out Matt and Jeff. Rebecca goes to fetch a tin for my oily CBD rub (£3 for a baccy box is canny) to help it keep its freshness and form. We are chatting, let it be known these lasses seem like very nice people, I don't know them but I'd go as far as saying they ARE nice people. I'm a poor judge tbf.The time comes for Bec to price it up, so I'm bracing myself, couple of stretches, few deep breaths. "Are ya ready?"...hmm, good question. I guessed £94, she indicated lower.£88. Not so bad. Crisis averted. But I'm my own worst enemy in situations like this. I blame ADHD. And Olivia."That's not bad, I thought it'd be about £100", I said, "she's probably forgot to scan something", I chuckled. Liv agreed on both statements. Bec then decides to go through and double check. He's flatlining, get the defib. It was joyous pain as we all laughed and snorted and giggled, they were very sorry. I enjoyed the comedy. Bec had forgotten to scan the CBD thingy AND the tin. £102 now. Now Liv had to box it up, I got a freebie for my trouble which was nice. Nice Xmas tag too. They handed me a card for this review, I thanked them and asked their names to berate them. It was good stuff, just the sort of entertainment you need when shopping.Oh you thought we were done? Oh no, I'm afraid Oh-Livia had to flog the dead horse, as it were. Salt to the wounds ring any bells? As I attempt my escape she lasso's me back through stifled laughter. She'd forgot to add our CBD object, wrapped in its armor, to the now wrapped gift box!Joy to the world....We exchanged Xmas salutations and I left feeling pretty content considering my bank statement.Thank you Olivia and Rebecca! And everyone else at Lush in Sunderland.Happy chrimusMerry crisisMerry chryslerFrom Liam.

On Thurday 19th October I visited the Lush store in Sunderland, Bridges Shopping Centre. I attended the store because since the birth of my son 9 months ago I have experienced dry and itchy skin. Not long after I entered the store I was approached by a member of staff called Laura. Immediately she was welcoming, friendly and warm. She asked me why I had attended the store that day and I had explained that I was looking for a product to help with my skin. Laura took time to listen to me as asked questions. After this I wanted to purchase the Dream Cream. Laura then presented me with a tub of Dream Cream to take home free of charge and explained the 'pay it forward with kidness'. I am not leaving a review because I got a freebie as my husband and I often shop at Lush. I am leaving a review because of the care, time and kindness I received from Laura. The free product was a lovely gift but aside from this I just wish to send gratitude for Laura's time she took to speak with me. We often visit and shop at the Sunderland store and Laura is a shining example of the dedicated staff that work for Lush. We love the Lush products but one of the reasons we always shop at Lush is because of the friendly and caring staff in our local store. Thank you Laura and thank you Lush.
