Lidl has gone downhill quickly from when I first started going years ago. I think it has gotten so busy that its standards have slipped and is now indistinguishable from any other supermarket.
There is always at least 5 items out of stock on each shop I do. I calculated that over the course of a year Lidl has lost £500 from me alone on items unavailable.
I think their range on offer has also decreased and the quality of their own brand items have dropped. They seem more focused on the middle of lidl stuff rather than the food, the shop is full of random junk that looks like from a car boot sale. The flavour of the week options used to be great and varied, now it's the same rubbish rotated every few months.
The quality of the fruit and veg is so bad that I now get that elsewhere. They must not store it correctly or they buy low quality because so much of it goes bad after just 2-3 days.
The quality of staff has decreased dramatically, they used to be so nice and helpful. You can expect a long queue every single time you go, I'm talking 3+ people in front of you. The usually only have 1 or 2 checkouts open, then if the queue is really bad they'll open another for a few minutes, then close it, only for another queue to form straight away. The may as well just leave it open as they're only wasting time.
It is obvious the Lidl model of having a small staff is no longer viable since it got so popular, they clearly need at least 3-4 more staff. You can just see how messy the store is that they don't have enough.
I have actually started going back to supermarkets like Sainsbury's and Tesco for a lot of stuff, I will probably drop Lidl altogether soon. It no longer has much benefit or advantage over others like it used too.

Called in today staff like others reviews say are horrible and rude the little kavastan lady on till what horrible woman she throws you shopping down conveyor belt when a asked her not to her attitude then a asked for receipt and she tutted and threw it at me she needs taught some customer services
