Spotlessly clean and super quiet despite having a room opposite the lift and overlooking the main road.Rooms: Bright and clean with everything needed for a short stay.

Fantastic hotel and excellent value for money.Great night's sleep and room nice.Staff lovely, breakfast good.We used the little fitness suite. Basic but got a bit of a work out. Cable machine could do with some oil! ? but otherwise OK.Walkability: Very central

Unable to make a comment regarding the rooms etc as I am part of a meeting on a Tuesday for Dementia and Alzheimers sufferers.We meet in the ground floor area every week.The staff and management are always helpful and friendly.We appreciate this opportunity for our partners to enjoy socialising in such nice surroundings and I as a carer for my husband enjoy the time with other carers.I might add that the coffee is really good.

All staff were brilliant and made our stay very enjoyable.Rooms: Rooms were very good but not outstanding for the price.Nearby activities: Safe and walkable to shops and bars.Bar/lounge is pleasant, business like but feeling slightly cold at night with large windows looking out onto a dark street.Car parking is £1 per hour all night across the street in the council multistorey.Free parking is only available on-street up by the University about 600 yards away.Walkability: The hotel is right in the centre of town.

great hotel with really friendly staff, vast facilities in an amazing location as well as very accessible pubs and restaurants nearby with a gym available to use 24/7. great public transport links to neighbouring cities too (Durham) Rooms are extremely spacious with great views of the city! Will definitely return to this holiday inn!Rooms: spacious rooms which are always kept clean to the highest standard

Lovely modern hotel great location reception area is bright and contemporary ,rooms are lovely spacious ,beds and shower brilliant..checkin and checkout was brilliant all the staff where very helpful efficient and friendly..My only negatives are the lunch we had in the hotel was terrible I had to send food back and because it was matchday all pints where being served in plastic pint glasses I could understand this if your a local or in football colours but where hotel residents and over for a private event .I'll definitely return any time I back in Sunderland as the hotel and staff where brilliant but next time I'll know to eat elsewhere

Not a fan of self check in. Hotel in good location. Comfortable beds. Didn't see any staff when I checked in. Good value for money

Rooms: The room is clean, new, everything is good. The only caveat is that we were not provided with hygiene products (sponges and ear sticks) or napkins.Food & drinks: breakfast is very modest. no greens, salad or salmon. I would say not a tasty breakfast. but the chef is very attentive and polite.
