Inadequate Staff Training: Popped into the new South Shields branch to check. Receptionist: No appt required, but both you and your wife will be needed to open a joint account. Later, on a rare day's leave, when my wife (self-employed) had a spare slot. Cashier: you need an appt to open an account, and none are available today. Me: just finished setting up online banking on my new joint Nationwide account.
