Made a phone call to this store at lunchtime today New Years Eve and I asked a simple question as advised to do so on your website - Can you tell me if your open today please? Got an abrupt reply of 'WEll I'VE ANSWERED THE PHONE HAVEN'T I ! 'So with that attitude from I think she said her name was Eleanor I certainly won't be going to that shop ever again. She obviously needs some customer service training.So I took my business elsewhere to a shop that were happy to help and not in any abrupt, rude and condescending manner.

Absolutely horrid!! The staff are unreasonable, racist and aggressive this place deserves to be closed down we got kicked out for trying to buy an item and we were asking questions and the lady was being aggressive and ignorant then another lady came over and started shouting at us to get out and that we are disgusting when all we were trying to do was buy a gift for my brother, Absolutely disgusting behaviour they are unreasonable and deserve to be fired and the place to get closed down.Disgusting people..

This is that third WH Smith I?ve been in on my return trip home. They clearly need a new training department or improvement in their EVP to attract staff. Everyone looked stale or miserable and one I had to stop them serving me as they were complaining at anything I asked! Look after your people and they will look after your customers WH Smith.

The level of customers service skills definitely needs improving. Popped in to pick up a couple of bits. Item scanned through self service twice by mistake. Removed the item but needed staff card to confirm. Lady stood at the tills as the self checkout loudly proclaims "Assistance is on the way" got tired of waiting for her to assist despite sizeable gaps in customers.

A really large store with a huge range of magazines, books and stationery etc. Store is well laid out and easy to fine what you are looking for.

People love to complain so quickly but the store is here for everyone and I have never had any issues. Always nice and friendly staff. Post office is definitely very useful.

I went in today ! Needs to be closed down ! 2 expensive! Staff don't help you what so ever ! Some staff are mislabelle! The stuff they have in like books well over the price range ! And stuff they are selling over price again needs 2 closed down the staff always standing around chatting they get paid 2 work not chatting alltime again things got in there far 2 expensive realy nothing in w h smiths it's gone down hill it was better store about 5 to 7 years ago now they sell lot off rubbish Needs a upgrade and a good clean out some paint wouldn't go a miss on walls again needs upgrade better quality stock in l can see this shop going bust soon if wasnt for post office upstairs this should went longtime ago closed down needs new management with better ideers needs upgrade the stuff they sell some things are load off rubbish it deserves go bust again post office upstairs is keeping this shop alive again staff needs go 2 management course how 2 speak 2 customers u can tell the staff don't want be in there they have misable faces we can do without this shop in Newcastle they should make it intoo Iceland or aldi that would be lot better that's what we need in Newcastle l say closed it down it far 2 expensive w h smiths with lot stuff they sell closed it down make it in a supermarket !! 0/5 w h smiths needs a good clean out its run down dirty !

This company is so stingy they will not even let customers take an empty, used box. On my way out of the shop I asked a member of staff (working downstairs) if it is ok if I take this small empty box today (12 Mar 2022). The box was already in a trolley with other trash. I was told that 'unfortunately we have to dispose of them ourselves'. I think the are trying a little bit too hard to prevent recycling= their policies are not friendly for the environment. One star and I will make sure I also 'dispose of' my income elsewhere whenever possible. Luckily Poundland and Savers are happy to let customers take empty boxes and recycle them. Unreasonable stinginess is not the way to build good relations with customers.
