Not completely honest with me?Note; At the time i didn't knew anything about cars.It was a very hot summer day just before the pandemic , i had an appointment and i was waiting in the garage car park.I had an appointment to replace sunroof drain tube,10-15 min job.Anyway, it was a very very hot day.I parked outside, went inside and i was told I'll have to wait at least 30 min. I said ok no problem.Went back into the car, and i decided to put the cold air fans at full blast, opened all the windows, sunroof etc and had the radio on etc.. all this with the car engine switched off.All this this for around half hour.Eventually the battery died and the car didn't started when was my turn to go inn.It was my fault,i felt embarrassed coz i let the battery die.I went to the garage and said, sorry guys my battery just died,i just been waiting all this time with the fans+electrics on and engine off'.They came around tried to start the car and obviously no success.I even pointed that the battery gauge was on 10v( normally shows 12-14).The hyundai coupe s3 has a centre console gauge with battery voltage.I show them that gauge showing 10v instead of normal 12v.They said '-'no. The fact the car won't start hasn't got nothing to do with voltage, its the starter motor or the alternator , you need a new starter motor or a new alternator "We managed to push car inside, i kept insisting it the battery went dead coz i had everything on with the engine switched off, "jump start cables should start the car again,I'm sorry it was my fault."- i said. They said -"no no etc you need a new starter motor or a alternator etc etc"At the time i didn't understand much about cars and they realised that. Then a long haired guy that also worked there said i needed a new starter motor or an alternator and the voltage of a battery hasn't got nothing to do with the car starting.(as i kept showing the voltage indicator) , A supposedly "qualified" mechanic says a battery voltage hasn't got nothing to do with a car starting. He said the battery is 100% good as the radio still works. ( Note: some radio cars do actually turn on when low battery)They said "you're very lucky your starter motor had gone while you at the garage"- i dont know if they're mocking me or something. As i insisted, they tried another battery ,they brought this battery was covered in dirt and probably empty and the car didn't start again. ( The car voltage indicator was still reading the battery they just connected 10/11volts or so instead the normal 12v).Then i agreed to have fitted a new starter motor and i said i didn't wanted a new alternator.A couple of hours later i went to pick up the car.- Prior to this event i never ever had problems starting my car.The car always started first time, even in minus temperatures etc.My old starter motor was working fine.Everyone i tell about this, people say my car battery died because i had the electrics on for a long time AND the engine switched off.Not because the starter motor or the alternator. All my mates say i was very very dumb for letting them fitting a new starter motor without jump start the car first or recharge the battery back to 12v.A jump start should have sorted that.Like i said at the time i didn't understand much about cars so i had no comeback technical reply to the lads of the garage. If i remember i paid 100£ and something on top of my bill for a new starter motor. That garage,Never again

Had my Stinger in 3 times (so far) with these excellent gents. 1 for a wheel issue, 1 for a tyre and 1 for exhaust. Each time they've been incredibly friendly, took the time to fully understand the situation and explained the problems/work needed/work completed thoroughly. Each time I've been in, they've been so quick at diagnostics and resolution that I've just been able to pop next door to the gym and come back to the completed work. The price has actually been the best prices I've been quoted in the local area, so all-in-all a perfectly rounded service provided each time. This will be my usual garage - and the garage I refer all my friends and family to going forward. Thanks lads!

Excellent service given here and with a smile ?. We arrived in Newcastle Airport after a long haul flight to a flat tyre .we blew it up with our handheld inflator and drove to this tyre fitter who sorted us right away and had us driving home within 30 minutes.Thank you for a wonderful service, you made 2 old travellers very happy

Fantastic service. I've had my car in twice recently for a couple of issues and both were sorted quickly and for a fair price. I'll happily use them again.

Alway go here for tyres for my car and van. Chris and hus lads always go out of their way. Even changing my tyres outside in all weather as my Lutons don't fit into garage.Reading comments about £20 for a repair. Get a bloody grip it's not 1990. Every garage charges similar or more. Why go through with it if you're not happy with the price? Think of wages, materials, garage costs, electricity etc. Jeez

Went in for a very simple weld on exhaust manifold and was purposely misquoted for work done on my car. My car was then left unlocked outside for hours.

Had my car for a significant period. Advised to scrap it - but got repaired elsewhere and now back to normal.

Fantastic garage, wouldn't go anywhere else. Friendly and helpful staff, and very reasonable prices.

Not just tyres! Made a very naive attempt at doing my own diagnostic and researched the price of the parts, before taking my old Peugeot Parter here when the wipers failed. Happy to say that Westerhope Tyres did a really good job and charged me a fair price. In and out in a day, no meessing around, good communication (regular calls to keep you posted to timescales and what needs doing) and didn't leave me hanging. Nice people and definitely won't take your eyes out just because you're a lone female.

I had a crack in the side profile of my tyre and visited their shop and was told it needed replacing. As my tyre was only 2 months old, I spoke to Michelin who said it could be a manufacturing defect and asked me to send the tyre to them. I specifically told the manager at Westerhope Tyre & Battery Centre to keep my tyre safe. However, they not only disposed of my tyre without telling me. I later found out that they actually sold my old Michelin tyre for their own profit.Very unprofessional and rude people. Despite it being their fault, they did not even apologise! Would not recommend. To respond to your comment: Thank you Chris for calling me to ask for my side of the story. I appreciate that. Nevertheless, it is not you or your team have rights to put my tyre to scrap without my permission. Also it is NOT you to decide whether it?s a manufacturing defect or not as Michelin clearly told me to send it them for either replacement/refund or an offered price for a new tyre. Because of your people, I CANNOT CLAIM THIS. Thank you.

Local independent garage. Service better and a lot cheaper than car dealers. Original car model spares are used for repairs.
