Lovely Waterstones. The architecture really makes this one something special. The cafe could do with a grade or two up-scaling with more comfortable seating and being enlarged, but it's a cozy bookshop I like very much

The latte I have got there at around 12 was the worst one I have ever drunk. I could not drink it during my stay. Just go there to buy books, not drinks.

It's great to drink coffee in a quiet and peaceful environment with the smell of books...

I recently visited Waterstons Library, and I must say, it's a fantastic place to study or read. They serve a super strong coffee that's perfect for staying focused. The chocolate cake was a delightful treat, not overly sweet and wonderfully moist. I absolutely loved it! Great place for book lovers and coffee enthusiasts.

Could spend an entire day here but we only had an hour to browse the enormous selection of books & gifts on offer here. Beautiful building and very well organised book shop. Very colourful and attractive displays. The coffee shop is a huge added bonus. Staff were so nice.

Enjoyed browsing around this Waterstones on an all too brief visit to Newcastle. It's only a few strides from Grey's Monument in the bustling shopping district. The impressive building it occupies, dating from 1903 and originally an upmarket restaurant, is wonderfully ornate both inside and out. It's a busy shop with ample space to browse and a lift to all three floors. A good selection of books covering a wide range of interests plus greetings cards, calendars, games and some beautiful jigsaw puzzles. There's a big children's section downstairs, full of imaginative games and toys as well as books. Plenty of reference books for students too. Was greeted with a lovely aroma of coffee when I arrived on the top floor! Did not have time to stop for a drink, but the café offered a good choice of speciality coffees and teas, some delicious looking cakes and scones, and plenty of places to sit among the displays of books or in the window where you can look out over the city. A relaxed and friendly atmosphere in which to browse through your purchases! Well worth a return visit.

Absolutely beautiful exterior as the interior set up. Felt like a kid in a sweet shop. The boardgames followed through with a various puzzle sets and then onto stationary and bookmakers. The best sellers easy to find and the staff friendlier than your neighbours with a smile. Lovely spontaneous visit it was.

This is a great place to buy your books! I was here during my stay in Newcastle and really enjoyed my visit. They have a great selection of books and a lovely café on the first floor where I enjoyed an iced latte and a vegan brownie. They both tasted amazing and I could relax while reading the book I bought. Definitely recommend checking this store out.

It's a book shop. I was surprised to see a selection of small toys including a mouth organ and a whistle that were unwrapped so that anyone could use them. Not good policy in preventing transferable illnesses.
