TK Maxx is owned by TJX Companies, a US-based company. Not a German department store as one reviewer below Herbert Wittman claims in review below. Love tkmaxx as a store!
This particular Tkmaxx is more organised unlike my local Bracknell in Berkshire tkmaxx which is one of the worst & very messy! You can get good deals here but not everything is a good deal & not all items are designer labels. Based on a documentary I watched about TKmaxx few years ago, some of the clothing brands are actually owned by TKmaxx/TJmaxx
themselves but labelled with different brand name so not everything is designer brands but some are actually their own brand however you do get some good branded stuff at good prices.

Staff friendly and always a bargain to be had

Absolutely unacceptable experience.
I spent over £60 and shop here regularly. But today, the cashier told me to return the basket to the front myself ? really?
Because of my anxiety, I didn?t feel able to say no.
And with my back pain, I ended up doing something that should not be my responsibility as a customer.
This is not how loyal customers should be treated. I left feeling upset and humiliated.

Went to return sunglasses at the till and the woman serving, who was called Allison, was so rude, nasty and argumentative to us about the return. She showed no politeness or professionalism.
The supervisor/manager was called over to authorise the return and he was great, he had no issues with the return and was extremely polite.

Number one brand in the uk. The downside of tkmax on byker is that the staff aren't mannered. They need more training on how to deal with different customers from different backgrounds. Today, the teenager cashier at the right front of the queue wasn't professional and was unfriendly..I spent more than a hundred pounds. She was upset about changing an item and didn't say thank you or answer back my appreciation. 11/04/2025 between 12.30 p.m and 2.30 p.m.

Way better than other TKmaxx around. A lot better selection.
Staff don't pounce on you when you walk through the door, or follow you around. But they're always there if you need help looking for something.

I only went in for some of their excellent honey and treats, however I noticed some very good branded garments as well; particularly by Spyder and Timberland, at much reduced prices as you would expect.
There is so much stuff to look at but I do think it's better displayed than on previous visits; not so rammed in that you could easily miss stuff.

I could spend hours having a browse, especially upstairs. I?m not too interested in raking through the clothes rails. I always come away with something that I didn?t know I needed - be careful though, there?s quite often different prices on the same item.

Mens quality is terrible,shoes trainers shocking,ralph lauren knock offs etc everywhere.years ago it was a place Where you'd find loads of designer goods now most of it is just cheap tat.socks are good though.ps never have xxl or xxxx good for sale.Leeds always hax a good selection, Why?
