Alic spotted another Peoples Pub with a Cask Marque. Thus a very good real ale selection. City centre bar vibe rather than a locals vibe. Booth bought me a Cullercoats brewery Grace Darking Blond. A 5% golden ale. Pub doing a roaring trade on this Tuesday afternoon in August. Lots of food being ordered. Buzzing atmosphere. Large upstairs bar as well. Std toilets up here.

We went here yesterday..the service by Callie n Rachel was outstanding..lovely young lady's.
The food was amazing..i got the fish n chips special..gorgeous and my friends got the 2 meal special of fish n chip for only £16.all hot n fresh..well done the chef ??? and the rest of the kitchen staff..
Its not my first visit and it wont be my last..

Regular meet-up place as food and service is always good. Not into sports personally so I just zone out the large screen tv's..too busy chatting, eating and drinking. I don't usually leave a review, but the staff members Chloe and Callie were especially helpful after I'd ordered my meal and forgot to mention I was vegetarian. My all day breakfast was taken away and a vegetarian one arrived. I apologied as it was my fault and was prepared to pay again for my meal but was told that was not necessary. As usual, the food was delicious ? Thank You.

Asked to buy 3 diet cokes for myself and my table - denied service. I was told this is an under 18s bar. It was 4:45pm. I am 24 years of age.
One of the other members of my table went up to order one for herself - denied service for a Diet Coke and a WATER (legal requirement).
Went back up with a photograph of my passport along with the other ID?s of my group members, denied again.
I?ve been to this pub many times, sometimes in groups containing underage children and have never been met with this before.
Extremely dissatisfied with our treatment.

So disappointed!! We were over from Ireland & I picked this restaurant to celebrate my husbands big birthday. I emailed & made reservation in advance for 10 of us for 6:30pm on a Sunday. Reservation was confirmed & I was told we had the table for 2 hours. Reason why I picked this restaurant was because it served Sunday roasts. We arrived at 6;30 & told kitchen closed at 7 so hurry up & put orders in before it closed including desserts or we wouldn?t get anything! We had to write orders down ourselves & go to till with them (I wasn?t aware of this practice) Then told nearly everything we were ordering was not available-No roasts whatsoever-chicken, beef, turkey? No fish, no shepherds pie! Basically nothing left on menu! Then no desserts left either.
Food was just mediocre. While the wee girl who was serving bar & food tried her best, the service & whole experience was bad.
What I had hoped to be a special birthday dinner with family & friends was an awful experience.

An absolutely brilliant pub with great prices, excellent food, and plenty of cold beers and ales. I will certainly come again next time I?m in Newcastle.

Where do I start? the service? The pints? The sport everywhere you look? I?ll be honest, it doesn?t get much better than Callie serving behind the bar. Wow, that girl goes above and beyond. What a lass. Kudos to you x
