Worse Guiness ever! Served in a random beer glass which was dripping wet, the head was close to a 3rd of the pint, dirty barman fingers all around the top of the glass. I asked him to top it up , which he responded ?its the perfect pint of Guinness?, then he tops it up as i said ?well it isnt is it?. Can not pour a pint and was very rude tbh. The bar area was soaking wet and grubby. The seat i chose had no springs and i sank into it close to the floor. Another customer complained about her dirty glass as she was given it at the bar and was given a paper towel to clean it, honestly could not believe my eyes. A customer was served food by a cook who looked a complete mess, bordering on a tramp to be fair. At 55 ive visited 1000s of pubs and in much rougher areas, but this place is hostile, filthy and grim . So glad i didnt see the toilet.

Such a lovely pub. The food menu is unusual and doesn't have the usual pub meals. The food we ordered was absolutely delicious. The bar staff were helpful too on what ales were the best. They also had a dog food menu. Great place.

there is nothing likeable about this pub or the staff. You are surrounded by roaming dogs off their leads mooching dropped food from the floor. There are regular dog fights as their owners take no notice of them or what they are doing. The staff are blunt and rude serving their favourites first but conti ueuing to ignore the rest. Telling you to constantly move. The burgers are greasy and tasteless. I have been twice and it was the same both times. Not an enjoyable experience. We wont be back.

Absolutely tremendous post-punk friendly boozer full of Gosforth locals, nice dogs and shabby chic furniture. The owner of the pub has a super idiosyncratic sense of humour and everything just... works. Great beers from their own Overkill brewery (on site) and usually a decent selection of guest beers. Cask tends to have a better selection, but it's really well done here.
There is a beer garden and it's nicely done, but is basically in the car park at the back of the premises.
Big burgers and nice plates of food available and there's a good selection of quizzes and events on all year round. Definitely my favourite pub in Gosforth and the service is always friendly. Definitely worth a visit and offers great value and crack. The atmosphere is always great in here. Strongly reccomend.

I went to this pub as I heard they make their own beer. I tried three of them, which were offered in third of a pint measure. This was great as it gives you the opportunity to try more, without drinking too much.
The loaded fries I ordered were really good and I thought the portion size was good value. The staff are very friendly and the pub is clean and well kept.
I would definitely recommend the Brandling Villa and will return next time I am in Gosforth.

At first i was impressed it was quirky and they had giant chess and video games to keep the kids entertained?. Thats where good impression stopped there were 10 of us and we were plonked down where the staff had just used the small round tables and pushed them together?. We all ordered food together but the last three were served when we were about finished the food was warmish, me and my partner ordered the angry susan goes to trinidad it said it came with a fritter avacado, jalapenos, cheese, and coconut siracha however the only thing on that bread bun was two dry patties and a fritter?. My son got the winner winner the gravy looked like it had been out a week it was lumpy, and stringy he couldnt dip the chicken in it. I said something and all we got was well the chef can bring the bits your missing?. We only came because the burgers looked and sounded amazing?. We will deffo give it a miss not coming back again
