Seems others have noticed and are bothered by this too- the staff hardly acknowledge customers and are always speaking to each other on the headset. I asked to be served at the till and the guy had the worst attitude. I understand this might not be a career choice but they are getting paid to be there!

Subpar customer service, young ones always got an attitude for some reason. Security guard nice and polite.

The much bigger Asda and Morrisons nearby are your best bets for the big shop. That's a no brainer. Get in at the right times here and there's usually price reductions on fresh-ish items. Occasionally you'll see one or two characters within (or outside) but this is the posh end of Byker so all is fully ?

I left a review a few years back but this place has went from bad to worse since then. Can't remember the last time I visited the store and seen all (4) of the self checkouts working or the actual tills themselves being manned without first having to stand there listless for 10 minutes while one of the two staff in that day try to assist. The sweater laden manager who resembles the popular 'Hordor' from Game of Thrones is absolutely useless. The majority of the younger staff are uninterested and won't even stretch themselves to greet you when they attend to you on the self serve. A shambles indeed.

Yesterday I went shopping, wanted to buy cookies, they were on sale for £ 1, had a red price. I went to the cashier to pay and the price popped out £ 2. I said this product is £ 1 as it is on sale. and he replied that this promotional price is from tomorrow. I asked is it possible? that it would work like that. And he confirmed that this was the price for tomorrow, I didn't want to talk to him anymore. But the price on the shelf does apply, and this is against consumer law. The cashier was generally not nice, I wish as few customers as possible. I won't go back there.

Like ASDA and Tesco - over priced. But this store's poorly stocked shelves and range of available products is a sham.

The amount of beggars hanging around outside & aggressively harassing customers : passers by is getting beyond a joke & staff are doing absolutely nothing to assist their customers coming in or out of the store. the irony being that Sainsburys are advertising they are supporting the ???? LGBT+ COMMUNITY whilst doing absolutely nothing when their customers are being abused wit homophobic comments & threats.
