Amazing friendly, helpful, cheerful staff. Clean, tidy eating place. Good range of basic foods cooked to order. Lots of delicious cakes and ice creams. Very under utilised place which is great for me ??

Visited the Grainger Street shop today. First time visiting and our 3 kids loved it - will defo be coming again. Lady on the counter was so friendly not only with us but with all other customers too. Fantastic value - £65 for 5 hot meals, 3 ice cream sundaes, drinks and cake.

Celebrating me 32nd Birthday in Mark Toney & Co! ? ?
Nice warm cuppas, ice-cream to with it (I got the Affogato, yummm).
I LOVE the fact over the century, Mark Toney has been bringing smiles and warm memories to the community through their service!
This coffee shop/restaurant/ice cream parlour is indeed a gem of Geordieland. ?Since 1892? is seen everywhere. I noticed that many patrons were senior citizens, and they spoke with the staff like they were at home - chuckling and chatting. Evident regulars. Such warm feelings as I just people watched, while sipping on a cuppa. Baby Caerulean, comfortable and warm, slept soundly throughout, giving Michelle and myself the perfect time for a date.
A lovely birthday memory in such a special place. ? I look forward to visiting again and trying the restaurant food ?

Like stepping back in time, with the atmosphere, service , quality and value for money. Sorry the photo is not that clear, I was over excited when it arrived , that's a dinner plate my Strawberry and a chocolate waffle is on ??? fantastic place, shame we are just visiting Newcastle.

Visited on a Sunday morning and thought the Full English was very good value. There's a deal before 11a.m. The portion size was just right, and it arrived quickly. I can't fault the quality of the ingredients or the preparation.
Staff are lovely, as all NE English places were when I visited.
It's really great to visit a long established local place, rather than a ubiquitous chain. Very tempting to go back for lunch next time.

Personally I was disappointed because I was looking forward to a black magic but both mark toneys have been unable to do this. Also there seemed to be a lot of things blanked out on the menu. However my partner liked the breakfast &the toast was nice.
