My friend and I visited this particular Running Fox for the first time yesterday. We were very lucky to get a table and although we were just planning on coffee and a catch up, we ended up having a fabulous afternoon tea. All freshly made and delicious. Our visit was made even more special by Lucy and all the team who gave us a very warm welcome. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to returning soon.

Difficult to leave a positive review as we were told quite rudely that there was no room for 2. I now see that they recommend to book, which we could have been told, and there was in fact plenty of seating outside which was also never mentioned. The words ?I?m sorry but? go a long way to appeasing people, good manners never hurt anyone.
We had been regular holiday customers of the coffee house under the previous ownership for over 15 years and will not be returning.

I was in a party of 30 ladies on a trip to Kirkharle. The Running Fox has a small function room upstairs which is so lovely. We were treated to buffet lunch of quiches, salads, ham, and the most amazing new potatoes! The food (which I understand is the same as served in the main restaurant) was delicious - everyone enjoyed it with no complaints! We also had homemade fresh cream scones and chocolate brownies with outstanding strawberries and cream. I honestly can't fault the food. The service was absolutely top-notch - the staff were so friendly and accommodating. The Running Fox was the main part of our day and I can't recommend it highly enough. Thank you so much to all the staff there. Will hopefully be back for another visit soon x

Inside was full but plenty of tables outside and a fairly nice day so all was good. First visit to this one, I'm doing the rounds, lol. Lovely, friendly staff. Had lunch there and cakes to take home.

Lovely food , excellent service,better to book for afternoon tea ,great choice on the menu, lovely atmosphere inside and out .

The small tables are just not big enough when having afternoon tea for two....totally cramped & no space for anything. The seats in the main area are very uncomfortable- however the seating/tables in the smaller room look far more comfortable/spacious. The entry door needs to be signposted...the number of people including us that walked in to find what we thought was the entrance was indeed not. Surely the staff are aware of all customers going past the windows then having to turn back around when the door does not lead to the entrance. Food was acceptable but this branch not as friendly / welcoming as Shilbottle or Longhoughton.

Called in on the way back from a visit to Wallington, the national trust property, just a tea and a cake, but it was a nice atmosphere and welcoming, and the food looked good, there are a few shops in the complex to visit,if you need to stretch your legs, we'll be sure to visit when we're in the area again and leave room for lunch this time.
