I went into Halifax today 27, June, to obtain a credit card. I was told that a credit card could not be carried out in store because there isn't any one accredited to do this! Those able to do this, work from home and I would need to do a video call or a phone appointment. I was agast, that something as sensitive as a credit card could be done from a person's home, rather than in the bank! Is there any way Halifax personnel could carry out banking details in the bank, rather than from home? Please don't impersonalise people needs for the sake of banking needs.

Literally the rudest and most unhelpful customer service I?ve ever received. Staff shouldn?t be public facing if they?re that disinterested.

Clean and spacious but the staff were unprofessional and unhelpful. Just standing around talking and not doing their jobs.

Staff are extremely rude except for about 3 members at the branch . I have been a customer of bank of Scotland for 10 years now which is partnered with Halifax .
They will greet you with nothing but sour facial expressions and are very dismissive . Watched a member of staff dealing with another customer and her facial expressions were the same , rude and dismissive look on her face . No smile .
You will be told to sit down and wait if you would like to speak to a manager and the ignored and forgotten about . Try to call customer services when possible or figure things out for yourself ? you might as well as 80 percent of staff in this branch are useless .

Had problems with a Bankers Draft issued by this branch. The manager, Jonathan Anderson, was absolutely brilliant. He personally rectified the problem without any fuss. First class!

Easily the worst customer service I've ever received. Staff have systematically mis-sold and mislead me on Help to Buy ISA policy. I have been trying to reinstate my ISA for almost 3 months to no avail and at every juncture have been fed wholly inaccurate information and advice. I've lodged a complaint which has been met with a laughably dismissive and generic response and I will be further escalating with the Ombudsman. I'm at risk of losing thousands during a cost of living crisis and despite the incessant marketing that Halifax are the 'people's bank', it is evident their policy is to disadvantage the customers they claim to care about. I strongly advise considering any other bank before opening an account or taking out product with Halifax. As a point of reference, my partner has gone through the same procedure with their bank and it was resolved in less than 30 minutes.

My wife started a child saver account about 12yrs ago for our Grandchild, in the meantime we have moved address and only recently realised that we hadn't been in touch to change the address. This morning my wife went to do this and was very unhappy with the 'customer service person' who was very dismissive to her. It was put to her that the type of account was no longer in use and she would need to bring the child in to change the account. How bringing a child into the branch would benefit I can't understand? The account was set up with the correct documentation at the start anyway. The employee then said she should rip up the card and throw it away, again if my wife did this surely it would make it more awkward to get the account upto date when it is changed? Unfortunately my wife will have to make another trip to facilitate this, hopefully the employee will be on holiday!
