Booked my car in for mot . I was told at reception when the car would go into the garage and when work would be complete. Handover was professional and everything made clear. I have used this garage many times now.

Dishonest and damaging service at Halfords Byker
I left my car at Halfords Autocentre Byker, and when I picked it up, it was damaged ? cracked bumper and broken parking sensor.
The staff denied everything, falsified photos, and claimed it wasn?t them. They covered for each other and took zero responsibility.
Customer service told me directly that they won?t admit any fault, and if I?m not happy, I should hire a lawyer or go to court.
Now I?m left with £700 in damage to fix out of my own pocket.
This is not just a bad review ? I?m an influencer, and I?ve already spoken with other influencers who will help share this publicly across social media so people know how this garage treats customers.
The staff were rude, the attitude arrogant, and the service completely untrustworthy.
Avoid Halfords Byker at all costs.

First time we have used, Honda Vertua let me down from 11 years of using, but managed to get me booked in less than 24 hours notice which was critical for MOT, as expiring few days later furthermore require for travelling. Got to say with Halfords the first and lasting impressions were excellent from Ian to Graham and introducing us to vehicle technician. Kept us up to date via phone and email and was fully completed within 45 minutes. Highly recommend and without question use again. Honda will loose £3k spent on service and MOT they once had over 10 years. Customer service is key as much as price. Hope Halfords?s Byker maintain this excellent standard set! Thanks to all the team. Great to recognise excellent customer service, Halfords gain the loyalty Honda provided is gone. There service manager could learn a lot!

Absolutely Disgusting and Disappointing Experience at Halfords Byker
We recently took our Nissan Qashqai 2021 to Halfords Byker for a full service. We?ve had the car for a year now, and it?s always started fine?no issues whatsoever with the battery or anything else.
To our surprise, after dropping it off, we got a call saying the battery needs replacing. Since we?ve never had any problems starting the car, we decided to wait and replace the battery only if it started showing signs of trouble?something most people would reasonably do.
But shockingly, right after the service, the car wouldn?t start and we had to jumpstart it. We informed them that we?d never had any issues before the service, but they simply said the battery had failed. When we pressed for answers, the staff had nothing to say.
We had the MOT test done in February, and everything was perfectly fine, including the battery. So we?re left feeling like something seriously shady happened here.
We?re incredibly disappointed and will be escalating this to the head office. We deserve answers and proper customer service?not this kind of treatment.

Halfords (Byker).
I took my car here for its MOT and braced myself for the bad news, however, I was presently surprised when I was told it had passed.
The staff were professional and courteous and the test did not take too long.
I am happy to recommend them.

I've used Halfords for five years for my MOT and Full Service. This year I realised that despite paying over £200 for the service, they did not check my tyre pressure as it was low across all four tyres a week later when I did a check ahead of a long drive. If that simple task isn't completed I'm sure the general quality of the service is poor. I also requested a new rear wiper blade and was charged £38 for this, despite it being listed as £16 fitted on the website. Apparently the autocentre charges more than the retail store and they don't tell you this. I contacted customer services about these issues three times and it took over three weeks to get a response, which was Halfords defending their poor service. I would avoid this company in general, as you can tell a lot about a business by how it responds to correcting mistakes, and the response here has been awful.

This garage is staffed by rude staff especially the manager and expect them to overquote you. Better to get the job done somewhere else, as Sean Davidson the manager of this garage, himself has said!
