I've visited the outlet of Costa Coffee several times over the last few weeks and I'd say my visit yesterday is typical of my experiences in this store.
This city centre store is quite modern but it just doesn't have any atmosphere and carers mainly for the 'to go' customers. I like a window seat whilst I enjoy my coffee but in this store there are only a few seats next to a window. The majority are internal and the high walls which make up the majority of the store only have small skylight windows near to the ceiling to provide light but no view. This is a shame as the store is closed to the Chinese Arch and St James Park so there could be acwinderfull view.
Similar to many Vista stores the food is top draw but on the expensive side.
So why do you go I hear you cry. Well the store is a little quieter than other stores in the city and I can get a toasted teacake. Other Costa store in the city refuse to stick them for some reason.

I was helped kindly and the cake was delicious. I ordered a medium americano, which I would describe as extra large. The taste of the coffee was good
