Called to branch closed for refurbishment no notice given of closure and no opening date advised several customers stood outside disgusted by Barclays lack of information.
I have been with them for almost 50yrs and cannot believe how customers are treated .

Had an issue opening additional account in the app. Went into branch and was dealt with by Ben. Resolved the issue within a matter of minutes to allow the account to be opened and also provided some handy advice on getting the best out of the app and directions to more help on smart investor - great service

Fraudulent use on my account blocked.... went to bank in Newcastle had my new bank card details on my phone but on my wallet app was in red stating suspended??? Told lass who was helpful could have my money BUT informed her about situation on my wallet app stating suspended thought she sorted that issue out until I got home no change still suspended so rang customer service wayhay the lad took the suspension off . Think staff inside barclays in Newcastle need training refresher seriously thinking of changing banks

I have a barclays account which I have a pension paid into and premium bond cheques.. Barclays stated there was £800 per month going into this account but they still took it upon themselves to cancel my overdraft for £300 in case of an emergency.. their staff haven't got a clue who actually does this and also sets limits on my spending what, money that is already in my account, they even told me to send bank statfrom other banks where I hold other incomes and savings, but they still cancelled my overdraft and limited my spending to £1000 stopping me from paying for holidays etc. I'm retired now after working for 50 years and they are treating me like a criminal with this basic bank account, just who is responsible for these decisions and why have they got a little God complex? Don't bank with these shysters as their customer respect is zero.

Edit: I opened account with Halifax. They are open a lot longer during the week and on weekend. Good bye.

My daughter has just come back from the barclays branch in Newcastle as she has had three fraudulent activities on her account and had to cancel her card. The staff were so rude and unhelpful I don't know why they bother having staff in this branch. She was treated as if was an idiot but she is not and probably more qualified than the rude woman she spike to. This bank is getting worse for helping people! Shame on you!

After being with Barclays for most of my adult life, I'm going to close my account and go with any other bank. I used to have 2 of their banks withing 3 miles of me, I now need to travel much further afield. Also I've got fraudulent activity on my account and after 3 phone attempts none of them have helped.
