Absolutely ridiculous! waited an hour and fifteen for food , only to be told they hadn?t put our order through . No complimentary items offered in return for unprofessional service.

We had a very disappointing experience today at Thaikun in the metrocentre. This is a restaurant that we have eaten in many times and always enjoyed the food so when my daughter suggested eating there today we jumped at the chance. We were greeted at the door and sat down as usual to look at our menus. I popped to the loo (hand drier broken so had to use toilet roll to dry hands) and when I returned the waitress brought over the children?s menu to my daughter. As usual she looked at it and began to tick the boxes as she chose her meal. The waitress then returned and asked us what drinks we would like (we hadn?t decided yet as we were talking through the menu with our daughter). When she noticed my daughter writing on the children?s menu she abruptly told her not to do it as this was the only children?s menu that they had (we hadn?t been told this earlier as we would have asked her not to write on it). This attitude really made my daughter upset and she became withdrawn as we looked at drinks. When the waitress returned she said ?So, have you decided yet?? again in a manner so abrupt that I thought that I had upset her. We ordered drinks but it soon became really apparent that my daughter wasn?t going to enjoy her meal so we decided that we would cancel the drink order and leave. As we were looking for the waitress to let her know she came back over to our table to tell us that one of the drinks we had ordered was unavailable. We took this opportunity to tell her that we were leaving and the reason behind our decision (mainly her rudeness towards us) and she kept telling us that it wasn?t our fault that she was rude to us and that we were leaving (of course it wasn?t our fault we were nothing but polite and reasonable). We won?t be heading back in a hurry.
Kid-friendliness: Be careful who your server is. The one we had was downright rude.

The food was nice however I asked if they had a certain cocktail on the menu in which they stated they didn't but would make for me, the cocktail i ordered was pina colada and my wife ordered the same but just the cocktail without alcohol, the staff came over with the cocktails and stated which one had the alcohol in, I tasted it and it tasted like there was none in so I tasted the cocktail without alcohol in and it tasted exactly the same, I called the staff back over and suddenly there was a language barrier but finally got it out of her and she stated she put a shot of vodka in. I've had vodka enough to know there was no vodka in and also since when does a pina colada have vodka in. Anyway just left it as the lady was acting dumb and it wasn't until afterwards I looked at the receipt and I was charged 4.50 for a fake shot of vodka. Rip off, won't be going back

Very slow service and food is just ok. Had to wait for more than 30mins for Pad Thai and Singapore fried noodles. Half of the menu is not available, not worth the money at all. Never again!

had the street noodles and tasted like burnt rubber. not too sure if they were doing a youtube video on cooking noodles on lewis hamiltons used tyres but it was awful. when i did tell her she didn?t really say much and tbh i was looking for a refund, discount or not to have paid for my uneaten meal. i asked my partner to smell it and even she was repulsed. she had katsu and enjoyed it tho.

This is the second time I came here , me and my friend ordered the same thing both times , and both things customer service was horrible , ghey left out food on the bench for abour 30 minutes and didn?t bring our drinks , the servers (plural) where rude and neglectful we even got our bill late , it just felt like we where being treated unfairly because of our young age , DO not visit

What an awful hideous place!! A BAD restaurant, very disappointing all around, dull food (mcdonalds is better!) and UNFRIENDLY staff. To start with, the customer toilets had NO soap, and NO toilet paper in the loos (check out my photos). No one can wash there hands or wipe there bums in this restaurant!!! You'll need to wipe ur bums on the walls. Lots of bacteria about im sure. And yes, i checked ALL cubicles, they were all the same. What a disgrace! The loos are like a grotty train station toilet. Secondly, the staff are NOT friendly at all. When the waitress came to take our order, she strolled up to our table and uttered one word.... "Hi", that was it and just stood there gauntless Staring at us like a weirdo!!!! Honestly, its like out of a COMEDY film. I actually felt like giving her a lecture on how to interact with HUMAN BEINGS, smile, and how to be friendly. maybe they only hire aliens here? Very weird, have they never interacted with humans before? Staff should ask customers how they are doing, make suggestions on food, try to be friendly. In this place, thats not going to happen, the staff are emotionless, empty like the toilet roll holders and soap that they can't be bothered to provide. Thirdly, the food was not that amazing, it was bland and very over priced. The staff were also so slow, we had to ask for the bill three times before they brought it!! I actually felt like walking out. I wouldn't recommend this place, especially if you need to use the toilet or enjoy eating food with any taste, or want to interact with the unfriendly vile staff. I'd suggest eating at mcdonalds, the food tastes better and they actually service there bathrooms and provide soap/toilet paper. I also think mcdonalds staff smile more, sad. Make sure you read the other 1 star reviews too... omg people sometimes wait an hour for food and the kitchen even forgot to cook it and awful stories like that. The food honestly wasn't much better than mcdonalds. If you want poopy bums, awful food and vile staff, come here... its perfect for an awful experience which costs TONS of money. An absolute rip off. The owners need to fire the entire staff and hire human beings who actually give a damn. I feel sorry for the owners as they will be bankrupt soon!

Seated quickly but then waited nearly an hour for someone to take our order.
We then waited about the same amount of time for food to come.
Both my daughters have very upset stomachs since eating there yesterday.

This was our 3rd visit to the venue. I just think the food is over priced for the quality. £5.50 for frozen chips with a bit of seasoning on is a joke. Slow service, and when the food came, it was pretty bland. Missing food items from the menu, soda dispense issues (not the staffs fault), staff looked like they were struggling and our drinks took forever to come and I only asked for water. Don't think I'll be back in a hurry to eat here again.

Half the dishes and drinks on the menu were unavailable, not even the lunch menu on their website. The food is average. Staff are quite friendly but can?t make up for the lack of choices in the menu.
You can get much better Thai food at better value in Newcastle city centre. Disappointed.
