Visited for a work trip, the car park is very small, there is a car park next door but it is 1.50 an hour. The hotel told me to park in another car park about half a mile away. Be careful when you pull off the hotel as some of the roads are camera bus lanes. The other car park was 7.50 for 24 hours, but you have to pay by the app, god knows how many parking apps I now have. I think these were the worst showers in a hotel. It kind of dribbled out and who has a bath in a hotel. I have no idea why they have a shower bath? I nearly broke my neck, getting in and out of it. Towels good and a clean bed maid daily. Staff at the hotel are great and friendly.

The Good: I booked a room with a view over the river Tyne, which was absolutely beautiful each morning and worth the cost of the hotel on its own! The room was spacious, having two King beds (I only needed one) and a shower over a bath. I LOVE having a bath, as they are not usually available in other hotels which consider themselves more contemporary, but when you are in Newcastle in the winter having a bath available is GREAT! The beds are so comfortable I would put them in my top three around the world! There was a good-sized TV and space for a laptop. Another great thing about this hotel is its placement - you go out and straight onto the path which leads you to the Sage, the Baltic and the Millenium Bridge, via which you can cross over and walk down the riverside with all the bars, restaurants etc or go up into the Toon, which is steep but only takes about 10 minutes. There is also a bus stop near to the hotel in case you want to go by bus to Gateshead centre or the Metrocentre. The Bad: Car parking - it was REALLY expensive, when a hotel like this should allow customers to part for free. Not only did you have to pay 8 pounds a night, but there were hardly any parking spaces and they are very narrow and on an angle, so many people just could not park their cars! The overflow park in the next door Baltic car park - try not to do that - it's about 25 pounds per night, adding 50% to your hotel cost! The Average: The restaurant and the hotel customer service. There were people at the stations, but the bar area is poor and there was, not surprisingly, no one taking advantage of it most of the time. There are a few small tables and chairs to sit on, but the food is very average as well - you are better off going into town or somewhere else. Room service was ok, but I was there for 2 weeks and in that time, there were several days where nothing had been done except the pillows put straight and the rubbish taken out - the bathroom was not cleaned and nor was the carpet.Overall - this hotel is available at a fantastic price and if you want to use it as a base and have a hired car that you can park nearby where there is cheap parking (not at the hotel or the Baltic car parking), I would highly recommend it. The rooms are great and it is pretty quiet. Except for the shouts of people having a good time coming back from the Toon late on, the loudest sound was the seagulls in the morning, which suited me fine. Highly recommended!Noteworthy details: The beds are very comfortable. The hotel is placed wonderfully to see all the nearby sites, like the Millenium Bridge, The Quays, The Baltic, The Sage and the town centre (10 minutes walk uphill).

First and last stay. Disappointed to have a car park advertised that is no way near big enough to cater for the size of the hotel. Would be better to advise ?limited parking? or operate a pre-booked system. You do t experience any issue at other hotels along the Quayside like the Copthorne. Other simple guest friendly option available but the hotel just blame the local council for ?taking the land next door off them?.Once through reception, rooms and communal areas of the hotel are tired and in need of a refresh. Tired bedding.Poor level of customer service from the duty manager on the day who wasn?t prepared to finish a simple discussion or negotiate.Overall poor experience and wouldn?t return unless outside my control and definitely would not recommend.

This review was based upon a stay on Sunday 25/2/24!I arrived at 13:45 and went straight to reception. The entire area was empty, no one behind reception or in the adjacent bar area to discuss my booking. After a few minutes a male member of staff arrived and simply said ?yes? not ?how can I help? or ?would you like to check in? I explained I was a little early and he simply said ? check in isn?t until 3pm we don?t have a room? normally, someone would check and 95% of the time ( from my years of travel) an hour before is usually safe! I said, ok I will be back later! He was very abrupt bordering on rude! The parking scenario is fantastic as is the location hence using this hotel again ( and I will in future hoping I am met with a different member of staff - the others are all polite and helpful!) I checked in later into a lovely clean, well priced room! I treated myself to breakfast which was good if I?m honest! I will need to stay here at least 3 more times, I just hope the man on reception develops his customer service skills!Walkability: Excellent location for the city!

Spacious and clean room, exceptionally comfortable bed and bedding, powerful shower. Well stocked refreshment tray in the room. Only issue is the on site car park is tiny so we were directed to a nearby public carpark - a short walk back to the hotel but it was cheaper than the hotel so no complaints really. Very friendly service. Amazing value for the location and quality.

Our original room had just had carpets cleaned and had an overpowering smell from that. They moved us to a lovely room without any fuss. View from the room was stunning. Parking was very convenient on site. We did not eat there. We had a nightcap at the bar, Bar staff were really friendly. The drink was really expensive, but overall the stay was great value.

Just saw the person delivering room service eating from the tray. Right in front of me. No shame.

No free parking, had to park quite a distance away up a hill, room was cozy but noisy with either what sounds like a boiler continually filling up which will eventually stop for a couple of seconds but then start again or doors constantly banging, leaky iron and wonky ironing board.Only half a toilet roll but the Shower was good, also a good size tv with freeview.Very disappointed and won?t be back.
