Pizza was very ordinary indeed, rather disappointing even. The waiting staff have changed since I was last here and now there's much less personality than there used to be. The lean-to at the back is sweltering when the sun's out. The rest of the restaurant is nice though and prices are good, making it very popular.
The Board Inn has been under the Antico Group management since 2011 under the name of Tavistock Italy Gastro Pub. On March 25th, 2022 it will re open its door after a fabulous refurbishment with a the new name of Antico Birtley thereby making it a fully fledged member of the Antico family.
The interiors, as well as the cuisine, reflect the perfect combination of two cultures, the Italian and the British one, which are both at the very core of our philosophy. The typical cosy feeling of a British country pub is combined with the Antico recognizable modern and elegant interiors style and completed by our true passion for great Italian food.
