Just excellent my daughter and I had flown on to meet some family and friends at Toby cottage. Just super. Well done everyone. The he'll of the m25 being closed did now spoil our day.

You might drive passed the unassuming traditional looking Toby Cottage in Ripley, but that would be a mistake! For a touch of nostalgic 'old fashioned' vibes, service and cuisine, look no further! In a time of 'slap dash chuck your plate on the table without so much as a smile let alone eye contact', this place is a breath of fresh air! Service with a smile, conversation, jovial flair and a genuine want to make your experience one worth paying for is what greets you at Toby Cottage. The food was delicious with an excellent wine selection..... And as for that beautiful dessert trolley..... A touch of class! A refreshingly lovely way to spend a Saturday lunchtime! Thank you!

The restaurant was absolutely fantastic. The food was exceptional?every dish was full of flavor and expertly prepared. The desserts were equally impressive; they were the perfect sweet ending to the meal, with a great balance of textures and flavors. Overall, a wonderful dining experience that I?d definitely recommend!

First time visiting after wanting to for years! Really enjoyed our meal. Great, friendly service and food. Really liked the extensive menu and especially the dessert trolley! Looking forward to returning.

Excellent on every level. Food was amazing, the service was fun but unobtrusive and the building is amazing and seems much older than 1890 when it was (apparently built). The Beef Wellington is amazing and my whole group all enjoyed their meals. The price is according to the quality.

Just what we wanted! Sunday lunch.
We ate varying starters followed by the standard Sunday roast lunches ; 2 x Beef, 1 x Pork. It was just what we had in mind. We'd certainly go back as the remaining menu items looked really good & we'd like to try different things.

My partner and I had such a wonderful experience. The food was incredible, extremely accommodating if you need to change something from your choice of food. Service was 10/10 and the waiters have a great sense of humour! Perfect, quaint little spot! We will be returning :)

What a pity the owner is uninterested: no wonder it's up for sale. There was an atmosphere which was uncomfortable, and it was obvious he didn't want to be there. The hospitality was non-existent, and the food was disappointing: the soup was just warm, not hot, and the saute potatoes were flabby, not crisp. The owner was constantly hovering and moving furniture round us and we were rushed. After spending over £164, I shall be happy never to step inside again. This is the first time I have ever written a bad review of a restaurant meal.
A special occasion completely ruined.
