You would do well to avoid this place. We had the unfortunate experience of falling in love with this venue and then having to deal with the staff here and despite reaching out to management they cowardly hid behind staff rather than sort out a problem.For context we booked a wedding here in 2025, however my partner and I have had a change in financial situation and wouldn't be able to afford the venue hire (which is extortionate to begin with). Despite reaching out with 18 months notice they have decided (contractually or not) not to refund our deposit (£1,500) and we are mostly likely going to have to wait to get married again.I would strongly urge anyone to avoid this hotel at all costs ( we have stayed here in the past and the rooms are dated and not clean, staff rude and the food and drink over priced.)Good job there are plenty of options in Surrey.

Excellent old mansion and grounds converted to a hotel. Rooms are old but large and well decorated and appointed. Service is great. Food was fairly varied - I only ate from the bar menu, but there is a restaurant as well. Prices are fair - I went midweek with a last minute booking, which was not too expensive. Breakfast was lovely as well. All told, I'd stay here again.

Really handy location close to Woking without being within the centre. A very nice historic conversion with nice quality rooms. Exceptional service from the reception and restaurant staff.

I filmed a wedding video at Gorse Hill recently for my company Surrey Wedding Videos and would have to say that the staff were really friendly and helpful all day. The actual venue is very well laid out and there are plenty of areas within the grounds for couples photos/videos etc. The main building is stunning and looks great on camera, I would highly recommend to other couples looking to book a wedding here.

A family 70th birthday . Booked in advance. Hotel insisted on a last minute time change inconveniencing many guests. This included young children's meal times. This was due to their error in double booking the reception area for a wedding. Clearly a complete disregard for guests needs making me wary of ever booking an event at this hotel. Food was first class and presented good value with good selection of dishes catering for allergies and the like, so well done there. Event space was booked to 23h00 but at 19h30 an exceptionally rude staff member was chasing the group from the room. This resulted in the 70th birthday party cake not being served to guests. Room was next to the bar and the same male member of staff complained about the noise. It was a seventieth birthday, how nice are a group of pensioners? Three out of five scored , deserved so much more.

Lovely hotel, was disappointed to see they have no garnishes for their cocktails in their bar. Ie Wanted to enjoy Bloody Mary and they had only lemon to go with it ? ouch :/

Beautiful location although a bit messy to drive to with small roads but well signposted as you come up the road to the entrance.Food in garden centre is beautiful, well presented and lovely dining area, can be a bit small if lots of people arrive at same time.Did not use rooms as here for educational day.

I had a lovely festive afternoon tea here today. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a really nice location and restaurant. Strongly recommend!
