Went to open a young person's account (whatever it's called there) for my daughter. Had an appointment booked and night before, with 5 minutes until they closed, I had a call from the lady who would be opening the account saying I had to confirm I'd be in or they'd give my appointment to someone else! So, I phoned back to confirm and just got her voicemail. Turned up the next day for her to be somewhat huffy about the fact we were there. She asked if I had an account and I said I did not. This caused a right kerfuffle and she said this would have been advised that I needed to bring more information and she said they would have to rebook. She was quite a sharp, huffy individual and so I got pedantic and said no I would not, they could sort it out. Sat in her room, with her saying "yeah babe" to staff who wondered in and out and had a chat to her, with her asking personal questions about my finances snd income in front of my daughter. No respect at all for the customer! She was awful and therefore I became more annoyed. Her level of patronising grew, along with my level of anger! She was put out as it was almoat her home time. Account finally opened but I'd already decided not to use them because of their awful staff here. We went to Lloyds later and opened an account there!

Just appalling. Kids front of house whilst any managerial personnel hide in their ivory tower. Obnoxious mortgage advisor and dreadful customer service and I thought NatWest were bad. This is my experience, my opinion is much lower.

I?m honestly not normally one to write reviews or complain but the service I had at Barclays Woking last week was horrendous. A very significant amount of money had been fraudulently stolen from my account - for the fourth time, and personally I?m more comfortable dealing with these issues in branch than on the phone, I?m other branches I?ve been met with understanding and sympathy for the seriousness of the situation and the inconvenience it caused me, especially since this issue that has occurred in my account seems to be quite unique and the case is currently dealt with by the complex fraud case team. However, at this Barclays having walked in I was met with a rude man on the door not smiling or welcoming me but when I said hello and briefly explained the problem he said they wouldn?t be able to help me here and I?d need to use the phone, having explained I?d feel most comfortable in branch if it was at all possible he huffed and looked frustrated and told me to sit at the sofa very dismissively. I was then let into an office with a different lady- who notably very unprofessionally had hair straighteners plugged in on her desktop and multiple open packets of crisps - i would be able to look past this if I had received helpful advice or good service but her attitude to me was appalling. As I explained what had been happening she constantly said ?that wouldn?t have happened? and as I said I had been given a new card with a new pin (due to the extreme and ongoing fraudulent activity) the lady said ?well no, they wouldn?t have given you a new PIN? they would have given you a new ?Card Number? this is the LONG number on the FRONT of you card? explaining it to me slowly and condescendingly, (this is incorrect and I have multiple letters with multiple new pins aligning to the four new cards I have received) it made me feel extremely patronised and frustrated and none of my problems were taken seriously, I could tell the lady was barely listening as I explained what happened. And when she went to talk to another colleague the lady said within my earshot, outside her office- ?I have a very young girl in my office talking about some money taken from her account or something?? as a woman in my early twenties I found this rude and totally unnecessary, it was patronising and my age and gender is totally irrelevant to the issue, it demonstrated an ageist attitude that I?m not willing to accept. I plan to get in contact with Barclays over the phone to speak further about this issue and report what happened to me as I strongly believe they could treat older and more vulnerable customers the same which is sickening to think about as many may not have access to online or telephone services. Do not go to this Barclays, they demonstrate ageist and sexist attitudes and a lack of willingness to help or support their longstanding customers.

I was offered an insurance at Woking branch but said I didn?t have time. The staff said only for 10 minutes so I agreed as I was looking for the house contents insurance after moving house. I was introduced to a male staff who was very rude. He even laughed at me when I listed my valuable items and asked me if they were genuine or not. Then he said my valuable items were beyond insurance that he could offer and had to call someone else on the phone. The way he explained about me to his colleague was also rude as if was looking down on me, no manner and he wasted my precious 40 minutes. I had to walked out of his tiny glass den being so humiliated. The Barclay is my very first bank account after I got married and I opened it at Windsor branch where we used to live as a first home. But I stopped using my account although I still havewith them. I am thinking of closing it now.

Unhelpful and difficult I would not recommend to anyone

Barclays clearly do not want to employ counter staff and want to speed up robots taking human job roles with the automated machines they insist on using. If you have to speak to a human, you need to wait in line and "take a seat" even though they only have 2 available and wait for an unspecified amount of time before being seen. This company makes Billions with a B and refuse to pay people minim wage to help their customers, very poor on their decision.

I am very pleased with the service i received from this Barclay's Bank branch, especially one member of staff namely Raz. She was extremely diligent, understanding, professional, courteous and helpful in understanding my issue. She was able to assist in helping me with a banking issue with the purchase of a KASHMIR jumper and 1 FREE PANI PURI purchase . I wish her all the best for the future ?

Staff here have always been so friendly and helpful over the years and I have no hesitation in recommending the branch. Raz in particular has been wonderful and so helpful.
