Strong smell of weed but it's in London so I guess you can't help that to an extent, still not very pleasant when eating. Food was okay. Staff were lovely!

I stayed at the Old Ship in Hackney for one night on a work trip, and I'm so, so pleased I did. I feel like I've discovered a new local and hidden gem!
I was wary of Hackney being loud overnight, but I needn't have worried as the pub is nestled down a quiet alley and I slept soundly!
The staff were super friendly, the beer selection was excellent and the food (with 20% discount for guests!) was even better. The veggie options were superb, too! I'll absolutely be back, thanks so much!

I've been to this pub before but never noticed the back terrace - there is a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, definitely worth checking out. Sunday roast was amazing !!! The potatoes were slightly overcooked for my taste but everything else was delicious, with a special mention to the gravy. One small issue was that the plates could have been cleared faster, as we were approached by someone asking for leftovers. However, the overall experience was fantastic, and I would definitely recommend this place!

2 night stay. Rooms ok but a bit tired. Stayed in worse. Great discount on food for residents. Vege burger was very good.

I visited this pub on a Saturday and there was mostly only 1 bar attendant, it was slow and painful. My food did not arrive and I had to nudge them for it.
Furthermore they approached me claiming my payment had not gone through (even though I could see it on my account) and asked me to pay again. I politely declined and advised I?d be there for the next 4 hours and we could check then. This was accepted but then she soon approached me and insisted I pay again. I agreed. She did not apologise nor thank me for paying twice?.
I checked my account 4 days later and no surprise the payment came out twice? even though they assured me it wouldn?t.
I rang the company who were once again not apologetic and even over email they have not apologised for the inconvenience. Of course this payment issue is technically a bank problem, but ultimately they are the customer facing team where the problem had occurred and an apology would?ve gone a long way.
The attitude I?ve seen from all staff has been terrible.

Really enjoyed my experience! We were well catered to as a party of 15 guests.
Pre ordering really helped and we were catered to on time! Would definitely recommend!

We stayed for a one night city break and the Old Ship was the ideal choice. The room was compact and comfortable, the check-in/check-out process made seamless by helpful and friendly staff and the location was ideal. It was easy to come and go throughout our stay. Our room on the second floor was a little toasty, but it was also one of the rare warm days this year. It was a good pick for our needs - with a budget but not so budget we were prepared to share a dorm or a bathroom. Really recommend!

Perfect early dinner venue before seeing a show at the Empire. Great menu and wine available and exceptional service - big shout out to Shannon who was awesome.
