The food was very delicious. We will definitely go back .

Unfortunately we?ve paid our list visit to Kayal in West Byfleet.
A recent visit saw morose, unfriendly and inattentive service and mediocre food. We had masala dosas - one of the signature dishes if this chain. While the pancakes were crispy, as they should be, filling and chutneys were bland.

We visited Kayal West Byfleet restaurant around 8 PM after a tiring day at an amusement park, craving some authentic South Indian food nearby. This was the closest option, and it turned out to be a great choice.
We?ve been to almost every Kayal restaurant before, and the food and service have been amazing each time ? that?s exactly why we chose this Kayal location that was close by.
Vio, who took our order, was absolutely fantastic ? attentive, friendly, and made sure we got exactly what we wanted. On the other hand, another staff member (I believe the name was Giel) didn?t seem interested in approaching our table or taking our order. Still, Vio truly stood out and is a real asset to this restaurant.
The food was exceptional! After a long time, I enjoyed such a perfect chicken dish ? kozhi kurumulugu ? along with kallappam, poori, and appam. Each bite brought back memories of our homeland.
Thanks to Vio and Kayal West Byfleet for making our evening memorable. Kudos for the amazing food and service!

It's a shame to be critical; and the food was very good and different. But the service - beer that was off, and having to ask several times to replace. Food not arriving. Not asked about more drinks, or coffees. Just ignored for a long time. If the service was as good as the food it would be a great place.

Food is tasty and delicious. Prices are okay and portion size is also fine. We tried grilled fish where they had only option of tilapia,King fish curry, chicken biryani and appam. Appam was really nice and size was perfect. We enjoyed the food. Ambience was also good. We went with our 16 months daughter and they didn?t have any baby changing facilities so that was bit disappointing.

Have had quite a few curries here and they never disappoint. Had the dosa and the lamb curry. Both were lovely. Very authentic food, great taste of the spices. I have had so many items off the menu and they are all great. Nobody else does a dosa this good.

Wonderful experience today. Amazing food, fresh and perfectly cooked. Flavours were so well balanced and blended that we were so delighted. We will come back for sure!

The Kayal brings back sheer nostalgia and beautiful memories from our Nottingham days....we used to frequent this place when we used to live in Notts 15 years ago. Ever since we left Notts, a lots of things related to the place gradually faded away from our memory, but Kayal was deeply etched in our heart abd we often had Kayal cravings, but had no option as both Notts & Leicester were tooooooo far from where we currently live. Recently, we found out that they have a branch in West Byfleet, and without any further delays, we decided to satiate our hankering for Kayal dishes, and I must say we both were instantly transported back to our Notts days. Every item, starting with the spicy squids....chicken stew and the appams, was bursting with flavours and cooked to perfection. But the showstopper undoubtedly was the Meen porichattu!!!! The service, the decor, the quality and the quantity of food, everything was spot on. I am soooo happy that I now have my most favourite restaurant within fairly easy reach. But I so wish they had a more local branch somewhere in and around Reading!!!! Please, please, please consider this option.

The food was very tasty, and the service was attentive without being obstructive. However, all wine glasses on the table were foggy and were not polished with a clean cloth. We had to wipe clean ours with spare paper napkins, which was not great. Also, the corridor leading to the bathroom and the bathroom itself would need a fresh paint job as it deflect from the really good Keralean food they served.

Good restaurant. Great service with smile ...specialise in Kerala food . Authentic and tasty . ( Portions are small for the price they charge) . Wine glasses are always dusty and dirty . We cleaned our glass ourself . Bathrooms are dirty . They need to clean it properly thoroughly before the service and between the service . Once you go to the bathroom it will put you off about it .
