We went to the white lion to celebrate a friends 40th having been before and was lovely but I'm sorry to say that i was absolutely disgusted with the chefs attitude and the way he spoke to the other member of staff and unfortunately me and my friend overheard what he said. We put an order in for food and as soon as he received it the chef came out of the kitchen and said very rudely I've turned everything off and I'm not cooking there food right in front of us. I could understand if it was near the time of the kitchen closing but it was 8 o'clock. He spoke so rudely to the the young man behind the bar who was very apologetic when he had to come over to us and tell us that we have to have a refund as the chef wasn't cooking our food. Appalling behaviour. The bar person was fantastic.

They were pretty unwelcoming towards my family and I. We ordered one of the kids meals and it was very poor. I wouldn't recommend a visit, there are lots of better places nearby.

Staff was extremely helpful and kind. Has a nice authentic atmosphere. The quality and portion sizes of the food was really good value for money. Food was delicious.
They were very busy but still remember to check in with us when eating to ensure everything was alright with our order.
Lots of parking space and it's free.

Went regularly for a pint, forgot to type in car reg one time once inside the pub and got charged £60. Never going back. Makes me sick!

Very comfy cosy type environment, a wide choice of tasty foods, cheaper than the pub next door. Lots of friendly people.

Very disappointing to say the least looked at the reviews and in general positive brought my mum here for a birthday lunch and although it was a pub lunch I still thought it would be of a good standard
I don?t normally write reviews and don?t want to be seen as slagging this pub off but I was extremely disappointed and hope this review is taken as constructive
We turned up unaware their was no table service fine after half an hour went to the bar and ordered
Two girls running around trying to do everything took my order fine
Food turned up 20 minutes later fine no one asked if we needed anything mustard mayo ect let that go
3 meals chips dry as if they?d been left half a mushroom and half a tomato on a plate with a steak like a chop I wouldn?t give my dog with peas all dry and all just hot enough to eat
As i had taken my 85 year old mum out I didn?t want to make a fuss but it was dreadful
Again it was pub food and didn?t expect Ala carte but if your charging people you expect some kind of quality
When I paid for this experience I did say to the young man at the time my feelings who was very apologetic but wasn?t his fault personally
Again I?m writing this as constructive but it was dreadful from start to finish and expected much more if that?s what you do as a business providing food that probably was done in a microwave but at least be hot
Pudding couldn?t bare to older myself but my mum did and yes Luke warm
Why did you eat it and say nothing at the time I hear you say Because nothing would of changed and I had my 85 year old mum there and didn?t want to make a her feel uncomfortable
So all in all an afternoon I?d like to forget with a lighter wallet for the experience This place will not get my custom again and probably many people I know
To those who it may concern up your game or lose many more customers if that matter to yourselves
