I was recently shopping at Sainsbury?s when I witnessed something that left me very disappointed. A lovely ambulance crew came into the store and politely asked if they could use the toilet. The staff behind the counter were kind and accommodating and said yes, absolutely.
However, while the paramedic was using the toilet, a manager came out, waited outside the door, and then raised her voice at the paramedic, telling her she wasn?t allowed to use the facilities because she?s not staff. The paramedic looked so embarrassed it was truly upsetting to see.
After she left, I spoke to her and learned she had just come from a demanding emergency call and hadn?t had a chance to stop anywhere. Emergency workers go above and beyond for the public every day, and they deserve a basic level of respect including access to a toilet when they need it.
What made this worse is that I?ve seen this manager (tall, short brown hair, wearing her own clothes instead of a uniform) be rude to both staff and customers on other occasions. This kind of behaviour reflects poorly on the store and Sainsbury?s as a whole.
The kindness and understanding shown by the staff at the counter was overshadowed by the manager?s unprofessional and discourteous attitude. I hope this is addressed, and that in future, emergency workers ? and all people ? are treated with more respect.

Very disappointing night manager last night. I ask for 6pints milk because there is nothing on the display.When I asked the manager he said 'there is a supplier issue' without hesitation. Being a local customer for 14 years I never encounter any problems like this. I got the 6pints milk in the end with the help of the staff.
