We needed a place to stay 3 nights after arriving from Dublin as we knew we weren't going to be spending much time those 3 days with things to attend to in London. We only chose this hotel based on its location between Windsor and London, and claims that the hotel was being upgraded. There was what appeared to be a reasonable offer for B&B for 'pay now' rates, and photos showed amazing river views. The rooms seemed to have been refurbished, so we decided to give the hotel a go thinking the bad reviews were a thing of the past. Two employees stood out for us; genuinely kind and helpful throughout our 3-day stay, namely Yasser and Anna at reception. What could go wrong, we thought. Reception when called kept giving excuses for not being able to call us a taxi. After 2 harrowing hours attempting to get a taxi from Heathrow, we arrived at about 10pm at this Mercure hotel. Laura at reception was kind and we asked about food places around. We thought we could order from the room another time, but were told that local calls from the room will be charged. All food outlets were soon to close we were told, so we opted for a Turkish food delivery. Food would not be sent up, but we'd have to get it from reception. There are no elevators in the hotel and it is like going around a maze to get to the various rooms. The room had what we needed surprisingly, but was tiny, and had a tiny window. Air-conditioning was non-existent. An hour of waiting for the food and nothing. The guy that had taken over at reception was unhelpful, saying her knew nothing, but to wait. We realised at 3am that nothing was coming. A bad start. Daylight revealed the true state of the hotel. There appeared to be minor attempts at repair work here and there. The carpeting is horrid. Only one corridor among the maze of them had new carpeting. The old building structure is in fact very beautiful but has been allowed to fall into a state of disrepair. Something unsettling we observed was that they had young people seated at the ends of corridors appearing to be plain-clothed security personnel. Breakfast was surprisingly passable/acceptable, but we found that there is a cook rather than a chef. I don't think lunch or dinner is served anymore. The breakfast restaurant was by a beautiful river. We hoped this would redeem the bad experience. Refugee parents and children in school uniforms seemed to be coming in for breakfast in the same room. They are living there long-term we soon found out. We believe some hotel owners would be leveraging on the refugee situation to gain business. Shouldn't guests be notified? Can't believe this is a Mercure hotel. It was priced like a Mercure, but was not good value. Highly doubt we would return.

The stay was ok and all that we needed. The parking however is terrible, today I had a surprise CCJ from June 2021. £207 for parking that should have been covered in the morning.

A shabby run down derelict of a hotel. The only thing good were the clean sheets, soft bed and location on the Thames. Expect stained, worn, grubby carpets and peeling paint with stained ceilings. I would let this pass except the room was not clean. The room floor, bathroom floor, sink and shower was dirty. I skipped taking a shower ? There's no lift, so you will haul your bags up several flights of stairs and through many corridors. There seem to be long term residents on site based on the washing hung out on balconies and kids bikes.

Nice clean room. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was great. Marked the room down as the water pressure was shockingly low. 4-5 minutes to fill the sink and bearly enough out of the shower to get wet.

Stayed for 2 nights recently and would definitely return. The hotel is dated and could do with paint work freshened up but it is clean and has comfortable beds. We stayed in room 61, quite a large room, very clean and comfortable but the water pressure for the shower was very poor. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is great, right on the river Thames. Had lovely walks along the Thames and into the town for food and drinks. The hotel location is ideal for a trip to Thorpe park as it's only minutes away in the car.

Check in was fast and friendly. My room was on the road side so was quite noisy at night with vehicles offloading. Very nice room and comfy bed. Water pressure for the shower was very poor though. The hotel is currently taking refugees. The ones I met were friendly and quiet so no problem. Overall a really positive stay.

I went for a murder mystery night. Everybody and all staff are so friendly. Rooms are big and terrace is amazing. I loved my stay and would stay again . Its a 5 min walk to town. They could improve on the cooking.

Shower ripped off the wall. Children playing on corridors - limited wi fi due to overloaded due to people in it. Didn?t feel safe at all?. Long term guests housed here - no right for them or hotel Guests . I was next door to the baggage stores for the long term guests which was being visited all night

We chose this hotel as it was close to Thorpe park. We got a good rate. And everything we asked for. We had reception call us to confirm our request to make they was in room before we arrived. It was great. Reception team late and early was great and welcoming. Was nice to see that the carpets are been replaced as they had tradesman in fitting carpets as we arrived and departed. Our room was lovely I think we had a upgrade. Was better than we expected. Two glasses of wine was expensive costing £15. We went into the town which was three minutes walk. We dined out so can?t comment on any meals. But was good for what we paid. And only 2 miles to Thorpe park. Would stay again . Thanks

Very strange place, room was tatty with staines all over the carpet, wasn't particularly clean as there was toothpaste from the previous guest in the sink. Door frame was rotting from the water splashing out from the shower, shower door was cracked, atmosphere in the bar area was strange, and there's security guards just sitting on a sofa as you walk in. Definitely wouldn't stay again.

Very old, small rooms, no airco or ventilation not what you expect of a Mercure brand. This hotel needs to be completely shut down and refurbished. Stayed for two nights. Ignore the professional photos as these are a misrepresentation of what the hotel actually looks like. The hotel is very outdated, even from the outside before you walk in, the hotel looks unwelcoming. On the inside before you get to your room, the halls are dark and filthy. The floors/carpets are trip hazards- they?re uneven and the carpets are all coming up. The carpets are that old that they?re threadbare and riding up in the middle and are stuck down with old bits of tape. If you struggle with stairs - avoid this place as there?s no lifts and it?s not a short easy walk to any of the rooms. Rooms are filthy, dark, grimy, outdated and dusty. There was also a lot of security in the hotel. The upper floor was manned 24 hours by security sitting there. This hotel is extreme expensive I?ll think twice before booking Accor/Mercure accommodation in the future. I feel ripped of by All Accor.

It was great for proximity to Heathrow - thankfully was only here for 1 night as the place could do with refurbishment as it seemed run down. It looked more like a hostel with people walking round with body cams so clearly they require additional security.

Extremely tired and run down !! Decor in an awful state, carpets filthy and stained. The corridors were littered with dirty linen and crockery/glasses. The fact there were security/bouncers on each landing was also a little worrying !! Our room was very, very basic and didn?t feel clean, there were hairs in the bathroom sink and two squashed fruit pastilles on the floor beside the bed !! If we were booked for any longer than one night then we would have left immediately but we were on a flight from Heathrow early the next day. DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND !!!

Room and hotel dated and tatty, if you enjoy a good night sleep I would ovoid this place... Would help if the windows sealed properly! Made worse by the busy road opposite. However the location is a big bonus, stunning walking/cycling paths near by and close to the shopping centre & Heathrow airport.
