Such a beautiful venue, the staff are also very attentive. The food didn't quite hit the mark. The bread board was 2 slices toasted sourdough with oil and balsamic for £5.5 a little steep ! The prawns were good. Steak ciabatta was a little underwhelming. Steak was chewy as overcooked. It was very sloppy too many caramelised onions and sauce , i ordered with side salad which was drenched in french dressing spoilt the meal for me. Shame as was looking forward to trying here for ao long!

Honestly do not understand some of these reviews on here, came in with my partner, staff were super friendly very welcoming and so accommodating, super good with my allergy as most of their menu is gluten free anyway, food was gorgeous and pricing was fair in my opinion, very relaxed late lunch in a uniquely decorated restaurant, can?t fault at all

The restaurant has been refurbished. We sat upstairs and they added more tables making it quite squashed. We went on a weekday over half term and it was heaving so service was quite slow. However the food was worth the wait. I had their mushroom creamed pasta which was perfectly cooked. Everyone was pleased with what they had aswell. We shall return.

My friends and I had afternoon tea. I'm vegan, so we had phoned a couple of days ahead. All the food was delicious. It couldn't be faulted, however I was provided with substantially fewer sandwiches and cakes than my friends. I can't complain that there wasn't enough - I had my fill, but it definitely made me feel like a second class citizen. As a side note, scones with marmalade is a bit odd, also I had no spread or cream ( I took my scone home, as I didn't fancy it without). Dairy free spread is widely available, and most restaurants use it in their baking. Most squirty cream is vegan. I do think making just a few changes would make other vegans feel more included.Dietary restrictions: A little more research would make your establishment more inclusive. Why does this questionnaire only ask about vegans??

A fantastic chicken burger! Wonderful food and atmosphere but poor waiter service.

I was served a risotto and it was so hot it burnt the roof of my mouth. It took 15mins for it to cool down to normal eating temperature. I told the waitress and she told the chef but they both didn't care and gave me no apology what's so ever. She said people like piping hot food and I said it wasn't edible it was so hot which made it not an enjoyable experience.

The food is of good quality but the portions are on the small side and the cost to add extra items on is absolutely atrocious. It really feels like a money grabbing exercise.

We came to Packhouse for our annual pre Christmas shop, and always have lunch next here. Booking is essential. Lovely lunch, service great and it was lovely and warm inside. Thankyou and Happy Christmas ?

I went for lunch for a suprise 60 th birthday. There were 10 of us and we had a table on the mezzanine floor. Our drinks orders were taken without a problem. Our food order was then taken but the waitress failed to point out the specials on the table. They were not obvious as they were advertising baby showers. The food when it came was very tasty . Everyone enjoyed their meal. Unfortunately we all got chilled as it was freezing, so we ended up eating in our coats. We did point this out to several staff, but nothing was done about it. The radiator was stone cold! Unfortunately we seemed to get forgotten . We waited for so long after finishing our meal that in the end we had to clear our own plates off the table. All in all, the food was lovely but the experience was disappointing.

I would suggest the front of house ladies remove the rods from out the backsides and show some warmth and customer service. You could NOT have been more rude to 3 ladies just wanting to come in for a cup of tea/coffee. Won?t be back on that basis.

Have been going to the Palm House for years never any problems But went there this Sunday for lunch with my Grandaughters. We ordered two chicken lunches and one beef. The gravey came separately in small jugs looked like thick syrup with bits of beef in it was obvious it was out of a packet really salty and beef gravy doesn't go with chicken when mentioned was told new Chef and that?s what he serves up .Also ordered. Cauliflower cheese to go with it at an extra £4. 50.per serving Was disgusting Overcooked served in small bowel swimming in water hardly any cheese . As I said at the beginning never complained before. But will not go back for Sunday Lunch.

We stopped here for lunch as we were passing thru for my youngest sister's wedding. Our waitress Georgia was very attentive and made us feel comfortable. The food was delicious. I've not seen my mum tuck into her food like this for ages. She had the chicken, bacon and avocado salad with a side of hash brown puffs. We've not seen these before and were a great addition.I had the mushroom and thyme risotto with rocket. Really nice slices of mushroom amongst the rice which gave it more flavour and texture. My dad had the day's special of scampi and fries a firm favourite of ours. The portions were sizeable, I was the only one to finish. The outside has lots of what look like rural reclaimed items. There is also a coffee shack with quaint pods.I will definitely be recommending this place to family. Thanks again for the warm and friendly service Georgia.STRESSED spelled backwards isDESSERTS
