The calamari definitely the worst I've ever had, no flavour whatsoever and very small rings. The Eton mess was way too sweet with a sickly syrup overpowering the meringue and cream. The serving waitress, although efficient, definitely needs to smile at least once.

My family have been many times to the Palm house for different occasions and always lived it. However, my daughters recently booked to take their nana for a 90th birthday treat. They booked for an afternoon tea and the day before, rang to see if they could have a pod . This was all confirmed and the assistant assured the girls that even though the pods cost £100 , with a couple more drinks they would be close enough.
On arriving, they were told it was too early for afternoon tea, even though this had been booked AND that there wasn?t a pod ??even though they were empty!
My eldest daughter agreed to just ordering from the lunch menu, but insisted on a pod . She was told to go and choose one which they did. They each had lunch, coffees, some ice cream etc, and the bill came to £77 . My youngest daughter went to pay and was told she would still have to pay £100. She tried to explain what they had been told the day before , but the assistant was not very helpful. My daughter asked if they could have some slices of cake to take away to make up the bill and was told no. A bottle of wine was suggested, but the bill was then £107! So they were charged £30 for a bottle of wine!
Sadly, this spoilt the whole experience for them and their nana.
