we usually love Holland & Barrett, but this particular shop has one condescending male employee who made be and my partner feel very uncomfortable and ended up leaving the shop with nothing.
my partner used to take a supplement that really helped her skin issues. this supplement got discontinued, so we thought of finding different supplements with the key ingredients and see if that helped.
we asked the employee for a particular supplement we had seen online. he located it, and then seemed kind of dismissive of it, and asked what was the actual issue that we were trying to address. we explained that the skin supplement my partner liked is discontinued and used that ingredient, he then asked what supplement was this. It started to become weird there, when we told him the name and he kind of chuckled at the name, or our pronunciation of it, just overall condescending. then he started inquiring more about the skin issue, and it got a bit abrasive/impertinent. Where it was, what it looked like. Listen, Im am all for a helpful shop employee, but I'm not about to take dermatologist advice from someone who works in a retail shop. We knew what helped my partners skin issue in the past, and we trying to find those specific ingredients. This employee seemed to believe he knew better than us what we were looking for.
we ended up leaving with nothing because we felt uncomfortable.

I went there today with my brother and sister. The shop assistant treated us as if we were dirt and seemed to suspect we were going to steal. All I asked for was some magnesium bisglycinate, but he wasn't helpful and kept questioning whether I was sure that?s what I wanted. When my sister went to the till, he nonchalantly assisted her. Throughout our time there, he continued to stare at us, making us feel uncomfortable until we left. It?s 2025?please, we aren?t thieves, so stop looking down on people. The behavior from the man working there today was rude, unprofessional, and prejudiced.

Usually staff are lovely, friendly and helpful but there is one male middle aged part-time assistant there who is rude and abrasive. I usually go elsewhere.

Lovely new and clean store. Great selection. Seems a strange addition to Redhill. The staff are great but don't know too much about what they are selling.

I came in for the dark chocolate called , glow,I saw on my H&B app, I went into the Redhill store to purchase but unfortunately not in stock, the member of staff did say we have alternatives but I wanted the glow dark chocolate.She then said don?t worry I can order it for you and you can pick it up in store.I went ahead and purchased what I originally came in for.I thought the member of staff was very helpful and went the extra mile and made me feel as a valued customer, I call that exceptional customer service.I will definitely recommend Holland & Barrett to my family and friends.On my receipt the person who served me was called Petra.

Better range than available in smaller stores. However, I received poor nutritional advice from a member of staff. I went in asking for a specific vitamin combination and the member of staff questioned why and then, with misinformed reasoning, advised against it. I don't think anyone expects staff to have the level of knowledge of a qualified nutritionist, but they need better training on knowing their limits. Little did they know they were speaking to someone very well-versed in nutrition science.

My wife and I shopped at the store Thursday 10AUG23, lunchtime.Store had 1 member of staff. A young girl, tall, long dark hair.We were trying to work out what items to buy for my latest attempt at eating healthily.....The staff member decided to sort out the shelves where we were shopping.She didn't speak (apologise/excuse me etc). She basically pushef us out of her way....My and I were a little taken aback. We left the store without comment. We wont be going back.

Great customer service from the lady at the counter. Even gave me some discount for additional item when I was picking up my click and collect order. Sweet

Good variety in vitamins. Nice atmosphere. Always liked Holland and Barrett shops.
