Very disappointed with my food.
Pub was virtually empty so no reason for the food to be poor.
I ordered the chicken burger but without the bun. Chicken very dry, no garnish, chips so dry they flew across the plate when trying to cut them, and the onion rings over cooked.
Yes I mentioned it when asked how our food was. Received apologies but not offered any reduction on the bill or even a free coffee, very disappointing.

Shame, been twice before last year and recommended to friends. But is it under new management?? Tied food bland burger overly grilled fish pie and uncooked pastry for apple tart. Was there to be mash potato on top of pie not sure. Soft pastry base on tart as it comes apparently. Served pleasant enough.

Decided to go here for lunch today. 4/1/25
At 2pm with my wife.
I was really impressed with the inside of the pub. It was very traditional and lovely clean and warm inside.
Service was absolutely fantastic the lady that served us was so friendly and attentive.
Food was lovely however I had a mixed grill and asked for my steak to be cooked rare it came well done. The Manager offered me another steak or a pudding but I wasn?t too fussed. It was just to mention rather to cause a fuss. I didn?t eat it however.
Plenty of parking however you must enter your registration upon arrival.
You can also use Tesco club cards points here on food which is a good bonus to come here.
Will definitely visit again. 4 stars on food due to my steak not cooked to my liking and choice.

We booked a table for 4 at 12.15 today and arrived at 12 and the door was locked so we waited 10 minutes in the cold then knocked on the door and the grumpy manager came to the door and said he wasn?t opening until his first booking arrived and we said we are your first booking and he said it isn?t 12.15 yet and he shut the door on us. We?ve visited many many times and sometimes the service and food are great but sometimes it could be awful depending on who was working but we always went back as it was local for meeting friends but now never again! Their website says they are open from 9am and they serve breakfast too.

Met friends for lunch. I selected a mini beef and Stilton wellington for a starter. Very pleasant but couldn?t really taste any Stilton. Had turkey main which was nice although the veg was over cooked and rather dried up. The pub itself is warm and welcoming and the staff were very helpful

Visited on Sunday for lunch, hadn't booked but received a warm welcome. Had a great time food was very good our party of 4 all enjoyed our meal. Lovely atmosphere and great service from Gillian. No rush will be going back.

This occasion was a family gathering, so people travelled from all parts of the SEast. Our server was Gillian who, as always was polite, friendly and welcoming. However, when the meal finished the Manager was very off hand and rushed us out, because she was having a break and wanted to eat!! The Bell needs to train someone else to operate the till, so that the manager can have her break and customers are not rushed and hurried out! Up till then it was a very pleasant experience, but next time, we will find some where else for our gathering! There is plenty to choose from in Oxted. (Sorry Gillian)
