Popped in for a cheeky takeaway as I hadn?t been there for a while nice polite young man taking the orders food was very good although I found the sweet and sour sauce a bit vinegary compared to other places but otherwise no complaints from me

Absolutely dreadful! This restaurant used to be really good, I've been going there for ages. The Service, for which they charged 10%, was non existent. We were served by a kid who had no social or communication skills whatsoever. There was no "how's your food Sir" or "is everything ok Sir". The food too was pretty appalling, tasteless, bland Singapore Rice Noodles and Crispy Chilli Beef that had no "kick" at all.
When we complained about the tasteless food the "kid" waiter just stood there silently, no apologies and no offer to replace the dish.
To sum it up, no atmosphere, poor quality food, small portions and very expensive.
To anyone thinking of going to this restaurant do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.

Been going here for the last 15 years, I used to love it, and it's honestly heartbreaking watching this place gradually get worse and worse, and the portions get smaller and smaller and the food blander and blander. I've mentioned to the waiter the last couple times, but they seem to have ignored the feedback. I don't know whether the business is going through a hard time or something but if they don't pull their act together they won't last much longer. Upsetting as it's one of the last Chinese restaurants in the area. Sad times.

Horrendously expensive for what it is! Place was dead and we were one of the few tables in there on a Friday night. We had prawn toast, veg spring rolls, noodles, chicken dish, rice each, and a veggie dish and a couple of drinks?. £105 for two people! The take away costs half this and is the same food. Tried to charge us for food we didn?t order on the bill as well. Service wasn?t great, person tried to tidy up while we were still eating. Won?t be going back, just had a lovely meal at a different restaurant in Oxted for half the price and double the food.

Struggling to understand previous reviews at The Golden Palace. We have just enjoyed an excellent meal, with great service and a good atmosphere. I'm not sure, but believe the business has changed hands recently and what a truly wonderful experience. Probably the best provincial meal we have ever had with attentive and professional service. This will be our 'go to' Chinese from now on. Superb!!!

Pick up for take away, lady at the desk was extremely polite. No waiting about, food was hit and ready. Price is absolutely fair! The food was amazing. For someone who rarely has Chinese takeaway, I'm definitely going to order again! Lovely.

We enjoyed our lunch here, the food was great and the service was prompt.Living nearby, we fancied a lunch somewhere new and we loved the food (beef curry, prawns and black bean aubergine).

Food is always good in here, service for a while was a bit lacklustre but has definitely got better recently.Atmosphere, I've marked down a bit, but thats not the restaurants fault, there just weren't many people in that night
