We got here on Sunday just after the kitchen had closed. The staff were so friendly and the chief was very friendly, he came out with leftover roast potatoes and gravy for people and gave our dog some meat. The food served looks delicious and good size portions. It?s Lovely place to sit outside on a hot day with a choice of sun or shade and plenty of water bowls for dogs. Bar staff were friendly and we sat outside side with a couple
Of drinks. Nice size car park right next to some lovely walks.

As a local this pub has gone down hill over the years. What once use to be a bustling local in the summer serving good food is now a stop over for camper vans. The food is not great and the place needs a good clean including the beer lines and glasses.

We met 4 friends for lunch here today. Very few other diners, zero atmosphere.
Lots of things off the menu. 2 of us had BLT was ok, 2 of us had burgers, not great, one had fish & had to send it back was dry & insipid looking, one of us has sausage & mash, sausages were not cooked & they offered to take them back to the kitchen & recook them! Asked for the bill, didn't deduct anything as a goodwill gesture & added 10% service charge on top. Will not be visiting again

Lovely pub, lovely staff, in the countryside, food is good. Wasps are more taken by the blackberries surrounding the garden which is extra points!

Lovely spot, pub with character
Went for food but most desirable items were not on the menu - apparently supplier issues.
Ended up paying for drinks and leaving.

Beautiful surroundings. Food very basic. Would have been nice to have had salad with the burger.

We had a lovely meal at the Inn on the Pond. The gentleman welcomed us in and sat us at a quiet table. The food and service were excellent. Would recommend this place highly!

Just need to fix the pot holes approaching the pub and shift the two tatty cars parked out front.

The biggest thank you to the team at the Inn on the Pond for fitting in a party of 100 people on Saturday night with just over one week notice (when my previous venue couldn't accommodate us at the last minute) and totally smashing it! Amazingly friendly team, great choice of drinks and we were blessed by a very gorgeous sunset too. Can not recommend this place as a party venue highly enough.
(We are lucky to enjoy it as regular visitors quite often too and the food is great and the beer garden so lovely)

We went out locally and wanted to end our day in a nice family friendly pub. The reviews suggested that this is a family friendly pub. The truth is, there is nothing to do for the children whatsoever. We've ordered a starter, mains and a dessert from the children's menu and some bits from the adult menu. After waiting for more than half hour for cucumber and carrot sticks and chicken wings as a starter, we were told that we had to specifically ask for the starter to come first (as a starter!). We were not told this and they apologised. Then they brought out cucumber only, no carrot, again said sorry we forgot to tell you we have no carrots. Although, we had to specifically say that we want the starter to come as a starter, this does not automatically apply to dessert, thank goodness, as we ordered ice creams. Luckily, they got the memo about the dessert coming after the main. (but not about the starter coming before the main!)
If you want to enjoy your time with your children and family in a nice pub, please avoid this one, it's not worth the upset of having hungry, bored children sitting around the table. We feel that it is our fault that we have chosen this pub - the first red light was when we didn't see any play equipment in the pub that was recommended as family friendly. Also, the patrons around us frequently drop the F and the C word out loud, so if you do not use these words at home, you might need to cover your children's ears.

Great pub, outdoor seating area and perhaps people playing cricket near by.

A bit disappointed. The place needs a bit of TLC and a few cars left outside bring the atmosphere down. Can't comment on the food as didn't eat there.

My cousins moved to nearby Merstham and wanted to explore the area and came across this lovely pub with outdoor seating. On a sunny day, like it was when we visited, the location of the establishment was well worth the visit as the surrounding landscape boasted lush countryside views as we took in fresh countryside air dining al fresco. Definitely worth the trip.
However, the reason for the 4* and not 5* was due to the fish & chips. It was the highest priced item on the menu (£24) and by far one of the most expensive fish & chips I?ve encountered, and that?s coming from someone who lives in London. All would be forgiven if it was the best Fish & Chips I?ve had, but unfortunately no. The batter wasn?t crispy or fried enough, and was lacking depth of flavour. Also, for £24, we felt that they were a bit stingy in the amount of potato wedges served. I?ve seen other photos from other reviewers on the Fish & Chips, and ours looked lacklustre compared to theirs.
Other items we ordered, i.e the chicken burger and onion rings were delicious. Dessert was ok.
Another reason for the 4* was that they included service charge to the bill. If we had table service that would be fine, but we had to order from the bar, so not quite sure what that charge was for. Was it merely for entering the order on the system?
All in all, a good find and recommend visiting this place on a well-weathered day. Be wary of the fish & chips and service charge. Not sure if there?s service charge for ordering just drinks, curious to know.
