Stayed 10th-11th March after researching where to stay near Gatwick ended up choosing The Corner House Hotel as its nearby, read reviews online that seemed good so gave me some hope the hotel wouldn't be a disaster..turns out it was and I had one of the worst stays/sleep everDor some reason its rated 4 out of 5 but imo 2 would suffice and I'll give a 0 star for the attitude I had off the bald man and brown haired plump woman who had trouble understanding my issues when I stayed here:Male I met at check in was ok and friendly enough had brown hair and spoke with a British accent, helped me to my room, upon arrival where I stayed in the chalet I noticed several no smoking signs along with areas where people could smoke- one below my room and as a non smoker and someone who has a sensitive nose, hates the smell of smoke getting in my lungs and to my chest the corridor leading up to my room absolutely stank of smoke it was like I'd walked into a 1980s pubMy room didn't smell fresh or as if had just been cleaned as hotel rooms usually do when you walk into a new room mine smelled fousty from the smoke that was lingering in the air no doubt from other rooms or wafting up from outside in this cut off section of the hotel such as the doorway where people will linger Isaw smoking huts dotted around the courtyard opened my window as wide as I could to let the stench out and then smelled a strange smell coming from the bathroom that had a damp musky bad scent in the air which I'm sure came from the back of the toilet or drain to the shower so everytime I needed the bathroom I had to be quick in and out shut the door behind me as it stunkonly ventilation I had was from the windows above my bed in my room which was on the 2nd floor of the chalet just a bit higher from the door and huts where everyone would smoke not impressed by having to put up with the appalling lack of concern I got from reception when I queried asked to move rooms at around 3pm there were different staff working a bloke and a female who didn't have English accents so may not have understood me well compared to the more decent bloke I encountered when I checked in, these 2 staff members were not sympathetic got the feeling they didn't want to know my issue with the room and corridor where I was staying having smelling foul air seeping into my lungs and clothes, I asked for help with the TV not working in my room it kept saying no signal on all of the channels so I had nothing to do throughout my stay as the weather was bad I felt like a caged animal would've been nice to watch a bit of telly that was advertised with over "100 channels" I couldn't even get the news to come on let alone any freeview channels the bloke just shrugged and said there was nothing he could do when I asked about retuning the aerialWasn't expecting this start to my holiday felt suffocated with the corridor area outside my door and walls inside absolutely reeking of cigarettes I wouldn't be complaining if my issue had been resolved unfortunately it wasn't so I have no choice but to leave this honest review for non smokers/people who seek peace and quiet want them to be aware of when booking you get what you pay for..lots of signs up about respecting fellow guests and not smoking indoors but I'm certain no one takes any notice and staff are not strict enough on enforcing these rules they're selling smelly hotel rooms with paper thin walls to non smokers like myself that we have to tough out for 1 night-all I can say it was a roof over my head an unpleasant one at that I couldnt check out fast enough, guest next door disturbed my sleep they came in banging and slamming the door messing about in their bathroom with the light and shower tap kept squeaking then proceeded to have a loud phone call after 10pm when I was trying to sleep- ear plugs are no use when the walls are paper thin and a guest is acting like an elephant next door I emailed reception got no response then rang at 10:30pm for them to sort out the gues

Very friendly staff. Good value for money for being close to Gatwick airport. I really enjoyed my full English Breakfast. Comfortable bed. The only negative critique is the very low pressure from the shower head. Was able to take a nice pic of the sunset view from my room.

12/10 perfect stay for an overnight layover. So grateful for Mo, who was kind enough to give our family a ride from/to the airport. He went absolutely above and beyond to make my family feel comfortable. We could not recommend this place more.

The staff were lovely and the meals were good Didn't like to cross a busy road to get to our accommodation after checking in. I would stay again, in the main building.

This hotel is great only if your traveling to Gatwick as the have airport drop off service.. Breakfast was OK nothing special but not bad..riim was warm and clean apart from the smell of vomit which I presume it was in the hallway.. Couldn't smell it in my room so didn't ask to change..Bad think is the parking it very crammed and got charge £7 per day for it... Later found out the car park was crammed as its ppl cars which where parked up who have gone on holiday not sure what they charge for that...also walls are thin I could hear all the noise from the neighbouring room.. All holiday makers getting up very early and making a racket..ear plugs helped me to get some sleep..not sure if I will go here again.. Recommended if ur traveling to/from Gatwick for a night or two

The staff are friendly but I'd avoid room 15. You get all the noise from the kitchen. Other than that, it was fine and had all the amenities you'd expect plus serveral public buses run along that road to Horley and Gatwick. It was clean and the food served was good. The rooms are a bit on the small side though.Food & drinks: There is food available until 10.30pm and some local shops in the area as well as tea and coffee for free in the rooms.

Beds weren?t very comfortable the pillows were very flat and uncomfortable, the mattress was lumpy, however the bed sheets were very soft and comfy. Our room was quite loud as we were facing the road. The shower was unusable as the pressure was so weak it was just dripping out the shower head. The rooms were very clean and the tv worked but is quite dated. Food was delicious but took a while to get served and about 45 mins for the food to be brung out. The staff at the front desk were lovely and helpful, they dropped us to the airport which was very easy and efficient

The staff were very friendly but the soundproofing in this hotel is atrocious. I could hear everything from the kitchen. The food/drink prices are reasonable though and there was free tea and coffee in the room. I think they do wake-up calls too. The TV has all the freeview channels and there is a small desk and wardrobe as well as a (very small) en-suite bathroom with some toiletries. I think there was an iron and hairdryer too. Overall, the price is reasonable, but £10 for a shuttle is too much. There is a local bus that goes to the airport from down the road. There is also a Lidl about 10 mins walk away.

I stayed for one night and it was lovely. I really liked the kindness at the reception, at the airport transfer and at breakfast, especially by Abby and Lada (I don't know if I wrote their names correctly). I will definitely recommend it to my family and friends.

Only downside about this Hotel, is where they have placed tables with ashtrays outside of rooms it allows other guests to stand outside your room, talking very loudly when you have early morning flights! Maybe they should have a look at where they position clients with early morning flights, so they dont have smokers standing outside their rooms!!

Location is great for Gatwick airport, the room was small but clean, nice shower too reception were very helpful. however there was a group of very noisey people/guests til the early hours. I would not recommend.
