Really unfortunate to have to write a bad review. But we hired this for a private event, spend 800 on a food option and filled the pub with over a hundred for the day.... a lot of money taken by them.
There was hair in several sandwiches so they were returned and staff apologised.
It was a funeral so I was unsure on the time of arrival- I have an approximate time between 12.30-1.30- we arrived about 12.30 probably just after. Staff were rude and told me we shouldn't be there yet- which I found really quite upsetting. I said we'd be happy to go upstairs to the function room if they had guests or it was an inconvience. The lady said well whatever but I'm not opening the bar for you!? (Great management skills) I was trying to come up with a solution as we were so much 'in the way'
I made sure I chose a venue who could accommodate us staying all evening- again probably ordering some dinner as it was really important we didn't feel we had to rush off. They agreed this but said if they got dinner bookings would it be ok to not have exclusive hire to which I agreed. Then without ANY warning whatsoever the staff just said we have dinner bookings time to leave- some people had obviously been drinking alcohol. This is not at all why they said we had to leave- although now when I've contacted the manager they are using this as an excuse. If there were any problems or any individuals who had to much to drink I would of course agree they should call it a night.
I would NOT recommend this for a function. Really disappointed on a very special day and then haven't even acknowledged any wrong on their part. I probably should have got the agreement in person but I just didn't feel it necessary.

Room was cold. Heating works for a while then turns off.
Toilet run constantly. Very little sleep that night. Tried to address the problems in the morning only to be told they know the problems but I was just unlucky getting that room!

I can?t comment on the rooms, we went for a Christmas meal. I had the rib eye steak, which looked like a wolf had had a go at it before me, but tasted ok. I found one of the staff very rude which put me in a low mood for the evening, and also the reason for the low score.

I only ate here, so I can't comment on the rooms.
Whilst out on the road working, I ended up in the area for the evening, so I thought I'd pop. in for an evening meal, which was great, and it does exactly what it says on the tin. Service with a smile is all anyone asks for, and it was certainly not a miss here. Thanks

It was a lovely hotel lovely food only problem was when me and my partner where resting in bed watching TV some other guests opened are door by mistake and almost walked in till the saw use felt very unsafe after that we where in room 9

The reason why I chose to stay at Harper's for a few days, was because of it's location and being opposite Haslemere train station.. It was so very convenient for me, cause I had no car...I made several train journeys and it was the best ever... my 1st visit to Harper's, I was very impressed ? ? ( upon my arrival), that a member of staff opened the front door, when I had my suitcase and other baggage and welcomed me.. in fact, all of the staff I engaged with were friendly and helpful.... my only comment was, that for me, on booking up, the VAT was listed, on top of the rate, per night... this pushed up my costs quite alot, which made it expensive.. I chose to eat out too, cause the meals were pricey for me, but probably ?, nevertheless.... unfortunately, there is no lift, but you can always get help with your luggage.... on the whole, ( apart from the prices), I was not disappointed, because the room was very comfortable.

We're regulars. Food was great and the place was the busiest we've seen it for some time.
My only niggle was being asked three times how our main course was. Once is enough. It became a little intrusive to be interrupted repeatedly. Once per course is enough.
