Extremely disappointing experience with Waitrose Guildford.
The Haydon Place entrance has been closed for years without explanation, despite planning permission clearly requiring it to remain open. This has caused serious problems for local residents and neighbouring businesses. Customers needing toilets are routinely turned away, and the burden has been unfairly shifted onto small independent businesses nearby.
The store itself often looks disorganised and messy ? as if there are building works going on every day. Many of our customers, who previously shopped at Waitrose Guildford, now go to the new M&S in instead because of the poor shopping environment.
Management is unprofessional and unapproachable. Gary, the branch manager, does not listen to community concerns and has even been described as threatening people who raise complaints with ?legal action.? ftom waitrose legal team This is not the standard expected from a brand like Waitrose, which claims to value community and fairness.
Waitrose should urgently:
Reopen the Haydon Place entrance as required.
Provide proper, accessible toilet facilities.
Respect the local community and neighbouring small businesses.
Until then, I cannot recommend this branch.

Very nice Waitrose in the middle of Guildford.
A quality Waitrose in the middle of Guildford with parking as well - what is not to like! (Except the parking ticket machines which are very difficult to use and incredibly slow! You do get your money back when you buy something at Waitrose though )
The store is very well run with good stock levels and friendly and knowledgeable staff so never disappoints.

It was ..... Waitrose! The usual. Clean, good stock. Most expensive supermarket. You get what you pay for! Shame Guildford branch has to charge for parking but I guess they have their reasons.
