I was in the Guildford branch today (13th October) and was served by a very helpful, polite and extremely cheery lady (didn?t manage to get her name but she was at the right hand counter 9.30 and then again at 12.30) she went out of her way to assist me with an extremely unusual problem and eventually we got everything sorted. Thank you ? so much.

OK, but in common with too many financial services companies they seem very reluctant to deal with us in person, pushing us to on line or machines.

I am trying to start a mortgage with them and I need to pay the fee "only by phone", in which year are working this people.The worst is they don't pick up the phone, there is a minimal of 40 minutes holding the lane and when they took the call, they hanged out after 5 minutes talking to them.I have been through bad customer service, and I do understand one day could be more busy than others but as I can read in the reviews, long time waiting for answers to customer is their signature. They should be ashamed.

I generally like Santander, I have been a customer for 30 years and my family and children bank with them too.Recently I have had to call them regarding bank cards and pin and each time I have had to wait over an hour for anyone to answer the phone one day I waited 2 hour 45 minutes when they finally answered each time no one cared at all about my wait no one apologisedWhen I got through they were quite rude on each occasion ???? I still did not receive my pin ????When I.visited the bank, 2 guys standing at the frontI wanted to pay money into my account at cash point and the guy stands next to the machine watching me?? What has happened to Santander ??? Used to always be helpful . Not anymore

Such a poor customer service.I visited this branch with my partner to open a joint account.We were welcomed at the door by a gentleman and we expressed our will to open a joined account. He replied "we won't be able to pursue that". With a bit of confusion we asked if we could then get an appointment to do it another day. He replied yes and started to walk towards the inside of the bank, then turned around with a condescending expression on his face and asked "don't you want to do it online? It is easier".We just surrendered in shock, said yes, and left.This resulted in us trying to open the account online, due to an error the documents uploaded were rejected and therefore we should have posted them.We were not up for it so, instead, we are just not opening the account anymore.

£1 per day arranged overdraft charge. Closed the account already but you should know that these people deserve the worst in life & I certainly wouldn't trust my money with them.
