Recently moved to the area and went into Nicklins today for the first time. I asked whether they could fix my Rayban sunglasses and a gentleman there took a look. After about 25 minutes he came back, explained my sunglasses had clearly been sat on but he had done his best. He presented me my glasses back as good as new.I asked him how much and he said no charge. I couldn?t believe it! Such a kind act and so refreshing.Needless to say, I?ll be going back whenever I need an optician x

Disgusting service and rude. Disappointed and the older lady optician's license should be checked.After cancelling my appointment twice and waiting over a month already, they hadn't started well, but let it go as obviously things come up and people are ill.Anyhoe on my appointment day sadly I couldn't park in the main car park across the road, as it was full. I waited 10 minutes to see if I could get a space, but to avoid being late I had to park in the 30 minute bays next to Nicklin's. I tried to call them before my appointment to ask them how long it would take for the test and if longer than 1/2 hour maybe suggest I find another car park nearby and could be a couple of minutes late, but they phones were down apparently and just got the engaged tone.I explained to the receptionists when I got in that I only had 1/2 hour because of the above and the optician came out and said it will take longer, so I said well lets try.She was rude and basically after sitting down and giving her details of my medical history she said, "well I don't think this is the opticians for you". I was shocked by her rude comment and sat there. I took a pause and then decided to explain to her that they were only 1/2 hour bays and tried to park in the longer car park. It certainly wasn't my fault and unnecessary to be spoken to like that. I then said that perhaps a solution could of been for one of the opticians to offer putting in more money if I had gone over the 1/2 hour, but instead just got verbal abuse back and sarcastic, patrionising comments through the eye test. She then said to me oh you'll have to come back for the other test. ????I waited for her to give me the prescription form patiently and then she amended the computer with one of my results which I found strange, so don't even know if she has done it right. She then said patrionisingly, "I'm sorry you have had such a stressful morning", to which my reply was, "Oh I'm not stressed" Rising above it and saying, "Have a lovely christmas" instead. I then just walked out completely without engaging with the receptionists who were very nice and certainly weren't rude like the optician was. A vile person offering medical services.I will certainly find a differnet optician locally and get it tested again to ensure my results are accurate. Surprised she has a working license if she treats patients like that.Disgraceful.

Outstanding customer service and quality. Nothing is too much trouble, they provide excellent advice, and the quality of the finished product is fantastic - the best pair of glasses i have ever owned. If you cant get an appointment immediately stay with it. There is a reason they are booked up. Persevere as a new customer and get on the books. You will not regret it.

Loyal customer for almost 20 years for many reasons.+ Everyone in the team are super friendly, helpful, organised, understanding and always there to help when needed+ Problems or advice with glasses or anything like that and they are ready to solve it- Would be great to see the system go from paper to online and be able to manage my prescription / appointments / history / bills etc online

Fantastic opticians. The whole team are very professional, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Andrew happily spends time with you during eye test, you never feel rushed. Paul is excellent with frame choice and fitting. Reception team are fantastic. Can't recommend them enough.

My first visit to Nicklins was today. What a pleasure from when I walked in to be greeted by Nicola, professional and friendly. I was seen by Abby right on time and given the 5* treatment. So knowledgeable, careful and thorough and such patience. Finally Paul giving me advice on glasses, another professional and unrushed experience. I felt relieved that I had found Nicklins and definitely felt confident in their assessment of my eyes. Great surroundings, welcoming and clean and calm. Prices very reasonable. Bye Bye High Street, hello Necklins.

I am a professional sailor, and so the selection and prescription of quality spectacles is very important for me.I chose Nicklins, because of their reputation and quality service.I am delighted. The initial comprehensive eye test was very thorough and my 2 new pairs of spectacles (both bifocals - one clear pair for night time vision and one pair of prescription sunglasses for daytime) are outstanding. Throughout the whole process, the team at Nicklins strive to give a courteous and efficient service.I can not recommend them highly enough.

One of the nose pieces from my glasses pinged off and I couldn't find it. I happened to be passing and asked on the off chance if they had a spare one which I'd have happily paid for. They refused to charge me and replaced both nose pieces with brand new ones - took 5 minutes. Couldn't be more pleased and am eternally grateful ?
