What a ?gem? this pub turned out to be.
After waiting an eternity to be served, I had plenty of time to admire the bleak atmosphere. The staff didn?t exactly ooze professionalism either, let?s just say ?clean and polished? isn?t the look they were going for.
In fairness, the lady tried to be kind, but it didn't make up for the disappointment.
To add to the charm, random kids seemed to wander in and out of the kitchen as if it were a public footpath and a strong smell of burning food hit me when the door was open. Not exactly confidence inspiring when you?re about to eat. And speaking of the food? wildly overpriced for something that wouldn?t even pass muster in a Wetherspoons (where, incidentally, you?d eat far better for half the price).
Overall, a thoroughly underwhelming experience, I am afraid.
If you?re after good pub food, I?d suggest looking elsewhere.

This is a nice quaint village pub, seems to be a place where locals and visitors can stop and meet. Star rated for typical english pub. Food is freshly prepared, cooked and well presented. Nice small pub feel, its an old British pub, with a rustic look, with plenty tables and seats. Doesn't need to change. It's a family business that is doing things right.

This is a real village pub, a place where locals and visitors/ walkers meet. Food presentation and quality 100% don't expect the typical big chain restaurant feel, its and old British pub that doesn't need all the posh look. It's a family business that are doing things right , with a rustic look.

This pub is the centre of the community and a real pub. Great food and friendly bar staff, on a sunny day great to sit outside and enjoy the passing village life.
Please make an effort and visit this pub. then stroll around the village.

We were meant to have a quick pit stop to mark the end of our short break in the area but ended up staying for a while. The lady at the bar was really nice she made us some nice baby Guinness shots even though she never made one before and it was not on the menu.

It's an old school boozer witch is fine and I like that but just needs updating still got pictures up of past cricket teams from long ago just felt like it needs a little push into today but a nice enough pub I pop in there regular enough when working that way

Terrible. Had a family meal there, it was awful. Veg was rock hard, lasagna only had one sheet of pasta and was watery, ham was fatty. Landlady was rude a couple of times, spoke to us very abruptly. Will not return.

Lovely friendly pub. We called in last minute for a table for 6 and they were able to accommodate us. The staff were warm and attentive. Food was good and drinks were fairly priced.

We met a couple of friends here for lunch yesterday and were very impressed. We received a friendly greeting & the young lady who served us was super friendly & efficient.
We chose different meals & they were all delicious. Would certainly recommend this pub and look forward to returning.
