Back again for dinner, had a lovely experience as always, staff were attentive and the food was outstanding, I had the pan fried octopus.

We decided to pop into The Bell for a late Sunday lunch, wish we haden?t! The service was extremely slow, to take our order, we asked two members of staff but still we waited! When the food finally arrived, I had ordered the Sirloin Beef, I had two pieces of beef, one slice the size of a 50p piece, and the other slice the size of two 50p pieces, I also received three tiny roast potatoes, the root vegetables were fine, so were the greens. The Yorkshire puddings were dark brown, darker than they should be. My Husband ordered the Belly of Pork, which was also a tiny portion. When I discussed the portion sizes with the waitress she explained that at the beginning of the shift there is a large piece of meat, and as the time goes on, and meals are ordered and brought the meat portions get smaller. I told the waitress that we wouldn?t go back. There was only one Real Ale on offer also.

We went to The Bell for Sunday lunch on the 3rd August to celebrate our daughter?s birthday. The food was great and the atmosphere was very nice. We arrived at a very busy time but were made very welcome by Luca who gave us the choice of eating in the bar area or wait a short while for our table. We sat at the table they had prepared in the bar & had a drink while we waited a very short time for our table. We would like to extend our thanks to Luca for making sure we had a great experience. You are a credit to your company.

The 5 stars is only really for Sammy, the waiter. An absolute credit to the pub. Super friendly, attentive and helpful.
The food was mediocre. And considering the quality of the food, it was only really Sammy that made this fact more palatable.
Still, nice atmosphere.

I visited The Bell in Godstone today with a couple of friends for lunch. It was my 1st time there & I was very impressed with the atmosphere, service & the food. My friend had booked a table & when we arrived we were greeted by a member of staff & shown straight to our table which was ready & waiting for us. There was an extensive menu with so many wonderful choices, plus a list of specials for the day. Our waitress Rosie was amazing. She was so friendly & helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She was so patient while we perused the menus & chose our food. A couple of us wanted to make a slight change to our main course & Rosie paid great attention to detail & ensured we got exactly what we wanted . Throughout our time there, Rosie ensured that we had everything we needed. She is an asset to the team. I'm sure we will pay another visit in the future & I will definitely recommend The Bell to my family & friends.

We?ve eaten at The Bell many times. We always receive good service (with a smile or banter), the food is delicious & well priced & they have a good selection of soft & alcoholic drinks.
On July 26th we had a party of 9 eating together & despite the larger party, service was still great. They were very thorough when discussing food allergies with two of us who have severe reactions - in my opinion they went above & beyond! But it was so refreshing to have two wheelchair users in our party & the pub has full step free, wheelchair access throughout! That?s a HUGE green flag!
We want to thank all the staff who served us & highly recommend The Bell to anyone looking for a decent meal locally. You won?t be disappointed.

Lots of tasty lunch options. The fish and chips were good although it was slightly strange to receive a grilled wedge of lemon.
The staff were friendly and helpful.

I have been visiting on and off for a number of years and staff have always been wonderful, food decent and price and atmosphere good. However, today I was disappointed at how a table of older people (x4) were treated when an older gentleman knocked over a glass of red wine. I had to intervene to move them to another table and ask staff to clean. The 4 were not checked on or spoken to. It was a shame as it was clearly a day out for them. Customer service costs nothing, neither does a smile or being kind. One member of staff in particular could learn from this.

We booked same-day for a table of 4 adults and a toddler - from start to finish this was one of the most pleasant dining experiences I have had to date - the service was flawless, our waiter was polite, friendly and efficient - the type that remembers what your previous drink was and says 'same again?' - the food was fantastic and it just felt like a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. All the staff seemed to be happy to be there and had a good dynamic with each other and their customers. This lovely pub is now my first choice for a Sunday roast.
