We booked this place for mothers day lunch and unfortunately it was well below par. Gravy was basically water, they forgot to give us stuffing for all the roast dinners that were ordered, they forgot some of our drinks and still charged us for them which we had to point out to them. I appreciate it was mother's day and the pub was busy but the food was tasteless with no seasoning and it tasted reheated. Very very disappointing...we did complain and money was taken off the bill which was appreciated but made it a very unmemorable mothers day lunch...

DO NOT GO! THE WORST ROAST OF MY ENTIRE LIFE FOR £133!!! I feel absolutely violated :( I had a beef roast and my son a chicken yesterday on Mother s day. Everything was wrong! we arrived at 12.10 which meant it was not busy yet so service and food should be amazing. I did complaint and my son did not even eat the chicken and they offered no compensation whatsoever - still got charge £133 for a COLD - OVERCOOKED - HORRIBLE MEAL. DO NOT GO!

I gave it 3 stars, because the food saved the experience. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, and the food was good, but the service left much to be desired. We waited approximately 40 minutes for our food, and not even the starter (bread) arrived on time. To make matters worse, the table next to us ordered after us and received their food before ours.
When we arrived, they offered us water, but never brought it. We also asked for a high chair for a child and had to request it twice, as the first time it was not brought, even though we waited around 30 minutes. It wasn?t until we asked about our food, after seeing that the table next to us had already been served, that they finally brought us the starter.
To top it off, they didn?t offer us dessert; they just asked if we wanted to pay.
Although the food was delicious and the place is nice, the experience was overshadowed by poor service. While the food could be a good reason to return, the bad service makes me not want to come back.

Food and drinks: Slightly limited menu (loads of red meat) but tasty food, gorgeous location and superb staff/service.

Visited for breakfast on a Sunday. Lovely location next to the river, not far from main road but feels lovely and secluded.
Kitchen had run out of smoked salmon, which we were told after ordering which was a shame. Opted for avocado and eggs, beautiful presentation but have to say not very substantial (quite small eggs).
Childrens breakfast option of seasonal fruit with yoghurt was a disappointment - one strawberry sliced. Strawberry, whilst lovely, isn't what I'd call seasonal in March, did expect some other berries.
Would be helpful to have a drink menu included with the food options for breakfast also.
Lovely venue, we probably didn't make the right dining choice but would like to return and try lunch/dinner.

Is our first time here , we booked for a Christmas Day menu £125 per person we are at last sitting at 4 pm , which means we are the last table to be served , we picked this place because of the menu with what I can have prawn and lobster.
When we arrived to our table and seated 16:05pm our table was tiny and is on the stairs where people passed and i couldn?t moved my chairs back to sit in properly but they have sorted it out by moved us to another table that just became available that?s really kind ,
We order a bottle of red wine to share and large bottle of water , our canapé arrived very quickly , followed with our stater less then 10 mins ,
Our mains arrived around 16:55pm , my starter and mains was perfectly cooked and presented and tasted delicious ,
My partner mains was Worcestershire free range turkey ballotine with only 1 piece of turkey in the middle and it was more fatty layer less turkey meat, he cut it off he couldn?t eat it , all the vegetables and the trimmings That comes with my mains which it a lots to have with just one piece of turkey with fatty layer on it ,
We didn?t complain or make any comment about it because we understand it?s a special day for everyone and we understand that the restaurant were up early to prepare food for everyone,
No Christmas crackers was given like everyone else ! Our dessert arrived at 17:27 pm , we didn?t bother to ask why and no staff or manager pay any attention to that or even check back on our meals .
We left before 6 pm while there?s still other tables there ,
On our way home we still talking about Christmas crackers we didn?t have this year it?s suppose to be a traditional how you celebrate Christmas Day with family and loved ones ,
feel that I have to leave this reviews after so many thought.
Chan .

Had really high hopes for this place, however turned out to be really disappointing for our Sunday roast, I went for the ?honey glazed? pork belly there was no flavour to the pork, came out warm which turned cold pretty quickly so felt rushed to eat it not ideal as it wasn?t the best roast i have eaten and not to mention the roast potatoes were dry and tasted like they came straight out of the microwave with no crisp to them what so ever, also the cauliflower cheese wasn?t seen to be on the menu but they had them upon request but to discover that when the bill had came it turned out we paid just under £8 for a small portion of bitter cauliflower! However on the bright side of things the waiters were lovely and the parsnips were very flavourful :)

Great service, great location. Birthday Sunday lunch with friends. Third visit here and didn?t disappoint. 4 of us. 2 had the pumpkin/ mushroom pithivier, I had the plant based burger and the other had the pork roast. For dessert we had the crumble, the steam pudding and the treacle tart ( although had to send the tart back as it was more treacle jelly on a pastry and didn?t taste great), all washed down with a very expensive Malbec.

Food and drinks: The pork was not served with its layers of fat but in chunks with the fat removed and so was not succulent and moist as you would expect for pork belly. The celariac puree was stone cold and the Armagnac prunes were not Armagnac prunes; all I got was a plum cut into quarters, it wasn't even heated up to give it more flavour, it had no trace of Armagnac and the flesh had that fluffy texture you get from fruit that's been sitting in the fruit bowl too long. The sauce came out of the little metal serving implement partly still as jelly, clearly this sauce had not been heated up properly. The banoffee Sunday was not very banoffee, it just has about 3 sliced of caramalised banana on top and none in the Sunday itself which was disappointing. My husband?s main course was ok, he does not like truffle so asked for none which we discovered meant he had no sauce as the truffle was in that. The venison was tasty but there was a bit of dry bread that had a bit of sauce dribbled over it so it was partly soggy, I?m not sure what that was about. He had a very small amount of potato. His crumble was fine but contained the same tasteless plums that I had. Nobody asked if we had enjoyed our food, other than that the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The ambience was good, there was a nice buzz of chatter but it was not too loud. Shame the food let it down so badly.

We went for a late lunch with friends.
Food was ok, service very charming - good selection on beers.
Lovely pub which must be heaving in the summer due to the location on the river
