I?ve been coming here for years, but I?ve never had bad service. It?s been slow, at times, and it?s never been a problem. I work in retail and so I empathise but the service today was beyond appalling. We sat down for about 10 minutes, no waitress acknowledged us or came to ask what we would like to drink. I went to get my food, still no waitress asking when I got back to my table. 25 minutes in, we?ve been trying to catch her eye, but she ignores us several times. I go up to ask if she can come and take our drink orders because the children and I were eating, but her response was ?You need to wait your turn? in a stern voice. I explained that we had been seating for quite some time but no. She went on to clear other tables and serve other people who arrived after us. When she finally decided to come to our table, we asked for 2 refills and 2 glasses for water. She brought the refill glasses and went on to clear tables and do other things before bringing the glasses for water. Bruno also failed, big time!!!! Also echoing what the waitress said and adding that ?this isn?t McDonald?s.? All we needed to hear was ? oh sorry, I?ll be with you as soon as possible ?. I have been on many busy Sundays and have never had this level of service. I didn?t tip tonight. I usually do and some of the waitress know me and my family. I won?t be back. The waitress ,today,never came to check if everything was ok. I won?t be back and will be tell all my friends and colleagues not to eat here.

Went along for a birthday meal. I want to say the waitress was amazing, sorry I didn't get her name. I was the 12.30 booking thursday for 8. The disappointment came when my daughter dropped off a birthday cake as a surprise. No issues until the very moment it was time to light the candles and celebrate. I understand the issue with nuts and allergies but the question could of been asked at drop off not 3 hours later. Luckily I had ordered a pudding to substitute. Lady (assumed manager) did not handle it very well at all. So disappointed. Won't be back for a while.

Arrived and got turned away at half 7 in the evening . Wouldn't recommend at all guy at the desk was just rude.

UTTERLY HORRIFIC SERVICE. We had booked a table for 7, we spoke with the host who advised us that he couldn't find our booking, then, he advised that he had found it but it had been cancelled, I said that this was not possible, as we hadn't done this, he told us the only time it is cancelled is if the customer cancels it, I reiterated my original comment, so he said that he would get the manager, the manager's name is Bruno Vianna and quite honestly one of the rudest individuals I have had the displeasure of meeting, he never introduced himself, nor apologize for the inconvenience, he simply held up the computer and said, 'see it is cancelled', I asked to speak to him at the side of the restaurant so to not intrude on the other patrons in the establishment, but he refused insisting there was nothing more he wanted to say or that he could do and instead threw his hand at me me in a dismissive manner, and when I asked for his name he provided it and said 'OK, there you have my name, if you want to complain go ahead, see if I care'.
Now, to me, if someone was intending to complain I would at least try to appease them, instead he seemed quite happy about the prospect in fact, so much so, that he feels untouchable.
No-one I converse with will ever eat at that restaurant again, I will ensure this, at least not all the time Bruno is there.

We arrived at Toby Carvery around lunchtime without a booking and asked for a table for two. After waiting a couple of minutes to be acknowledged, the host informed us that the next available table would be in 30 minutes. We were happy to wait at the bar and politely asked if we could be informed if an earlier table became available. However, before we could even finish speaking, the host rudely interrupted, dismissively saying, ?No, I told you 2 o?clock,? without even letting us complete our request. This abrupt and unprofessional attitude left a very negative first impression.
Hoping for a better experience at the bar, we were once again met with poor service. The bar staff didn?t greet us, and when we asked for a coffee, we were flatly told, ?It?s broken.? We then asked if tea was available, and the bartender unenthusiastically responded, ?Give me a sec.? We waited patiently for about five minutes, standing there with no follow-up, no response ,just complete ignorance from the staff.
At that point, we had enough. The lack of basic customer service and common courtesy was incredibly disappointing, and we decided to leave without even having a meal. Given this experience, we wouldn?t return or recommend this location.

I have been a restaurant manager for 16 years and have not seen this level of service even in McDonald?s,
Walked in and asked for a table without even looking at my face been told there?s no table so booked for the next slot which was 30mins later,
Attempted 3 times to say that in case if somebody leaves earlier than that if they could let us know
As I started saying he interrupted me several times saying ?No? without even knowing what I?m going to say
If you are working in hospitality first you should learn how to listen to customer and maybe smile a little
Have been here at least 15 times will never ever come back again because of this persons treatment
Now walked out to drive reading branch which I don?t mind at least I can get my voice heard
This guy is the worst thing that can happen to any restaurant
Could give no stars at all if I could

Just had Sunday lunch thrown at us after being carved and then served ourselves to luke warm vegetables and soft roast potatoes. Our table service was good but we did not enjoy the food at all. Not going back for sure

Good carvery choice and quantity.. Wish there was more meat free range and options for vegetarians. Doombar was too flat and not cold. Ambience was good, although service was a bit slow due to the crowd.
Dietary restrictions: Order veg sausages at the bar upfront if taking the breakfast buffet

Great place and food for family lunch/dinner. We go for Sunday breakfast mostly. Staffs are super helpful and friendly.
