Disappointing is the best description booked in for a Sunday lunch. vegetables over cooked and soggy, Yorkshire pudding solid as a rock, aged beef tough and chewy Drink service ordered a glass of wine when meal arrived finished my meal by the time the drink arrived. On top of the disaster a 10% service charge that was refused to be wavered. Service 1 star Food 1 star Stay well clear there are better places locally choose The Mill in East Grinstead.

Nice , peaceful location on a lake . Food was excellent with a good selection of dishes and beers. Service was good and staff friendly. Would definitely go back , probably in the summer as it will be nice looking out over the lake with a cold beer. Did find it a tad

I booked dinner with my brother and his family for a Sunday roast at the wiremill. I have eaten there before but decided to check the latest reviews before we went. I was concerned as the reviews seemed very negative since they were taken over. However I am pleased to say we all had amazing food. The beef roast with cauliflower cheese was superb and one of the best roasts I?ve had in a restaurant. The service was great and all reasonably priced.

Unfortunately the Wiremill has gone down hill. Booked a table for 4 for a birthday lunch celebration. Sat down for the menus to be brought to us and was told that there was 4 items on the menu that were not available. Ordered drinks to be told no white rum, so ordered dark rum. Again to be told no dark rum and only spiced rum. Ok so can we have port and lemon, sorry no port. No alcohol free drinks either except for Heineken. Ordered 2 double burgers and they came out rock hard and it was plain to see that these were thin frozen burgers. Not good for £16. Ordered the salmon and was told that the chef couldn't change the bubble and squeak for anything else as the dish is pre made. (Whatever that means) so had to ask for it not to be on the plate and had to pay extra to have chips with it. The pasta dish came out cold. No point complaining as there was too many things to complain about. So in all a pretty horrid birthday meal. The waiting staff were pleasant though. Only reason I gave it 2 out of 5.

We had breakfast here, and it was pretty awful. The veggy breakfast sausages were really really overcooked and so was the 'patty', only just edible. The stale toast came dry, we had to ask for butter. In my opinion, whoever cooked the breakfast was not a chef. Hard yolk poached eggs, and breakfast mostly cold.We won't return

Disappointing ?.Not our usual experience of this place. The bacon was almost entirely fat with no actual meat. The sausages were barely cooked - one had zero browning on it - maybe pre-cooked and just warmed through in the microwave? The sourdough toast was warm but again had no browning on either serving. Just warm, dry bread. One of our coffees was served up in a small (espresso?) cup, was a latte rather than a flat white. We've been before, so know what to expect. One pot of beans was only half full.Admittedly, the restaurant was slightly busier than usual and you could see they were working on getting things ready for their lunchtime guests but it wasn't that busy!We struggled to get the attention of our waitress to bring this up. The glass of water I asked for never appeared. We had to ask another member of staff who was some way off if we could pay, having sat there for fifteen minutes with the bill.God knows why we didn't challenge the service charge on this occasion because it really wasn't deserved.

Sunday roast.Had the turkey roast, everything was tasty perfectly cooked. Dessert was a sticky toffee pudding nice portion size, and the sauce was nice with a treacle flavour, and avoided being too sweet.Service was great and staff were friendly and professional, if I had anything to say, it would be the panelling on the outside, put in during COVID times to serve outside, but for me it takes away the magic of being directly next to the lake like it used to have, as it's now just plastic windows. Overall. Though top marks for food, service and atmosphere in general. ?

Good value breakfast but painfully slow. Table booked at 10:45 and ordered within 5 minutes. Drinks took 20 minutes and food arrived after an hour. Frankly not good enough, didn?t even appear short staffed.

Visited with friends. Not eaten here before but was a convenient location for us to meet up. Service was good, friendly and unrushed. I had the roast chicken which was tasty, but quite fiddly to cut the chicken due to the ?joint? served as very bony. Nice location so will probably be back.

Unfortunately I will not be making any further bookingsThe Wiremill is not what it used to be, the food, service and all round vibe it now has is nothing compared to past yearsSomething seriously needs to happen to make this pub/restaurant get back to its former glory. It's a real shame as this venue has such good potential that sadly is not being used. What has happened?Very disappointed we used to visit monthly and seeing all the negatives reviews it seems I'm not alone in my opinion.

Visited The Wire Mill for lunch. Situated on the edge of a lake there was a scenic view from our table, out of the window. I had the Steak & Tangle Foot Pie. It was extemely tasty with juicy pieces of beer in a thick gravy , all in a crusty pastry pie. The mash was creamy and smooth. Could have down with some more veg to go with it, although the red cabbage was delicious.A lovely pub to have drinks, lunch or dinner.

We were greeted by Matt and had a drink from the bar before meeting friends, not too busy so we were not rushed at all. Very nice pub with a good menu. Our friends arrived and we chose a table. The food and service was very good. The only slight comment about the food was my husband had the salmon with bubble and squeak and not as good as we make at home ?. But puddings were delicious so we all enjoyed our evening.

Pub has been take over by Hall & Woodhouse chain. We went for a breakfast which was truly awful. There were no coffee beans for coffee. The eggs royal was smothered in neon yellow tasteless wallpaper paste - the cheapest of chemical ingredients. There was nothing farmhouse about the breakfast - more plate than food. Frazzled tiny slim bacon pieces, a wizened sausage and a truly tiny tiny ramekin containing less than 2 tablespoons of beans. The toast was on the plate leaving no room for the meagre rations. All served stone cold in a stone cold pub as the boiler was in pieces in the car park and a plumbing van in attendance. Unfortunately so put off we won?t be eating there again but might call in for one drink only as at an expensive £4 for a tomato juice we won?t stretch to more. The view however was lovely and the staff polite.

£17.95 for a roast that in all honesty wasn?t worth that. At most it should be around £12.50 for what was on our plates. Came away still hungry ? either add more food to a plate or reduced the price.
