Don't go here for a quiet coffee ! Very dark. So noisy with children yelling and collection buzzers beeping loudly all the time. We wanted coffee and toast. It was 11am. Toast only available in Restaurant ! So we settled for plain croissants..no plain ones just rasperry or almond. So we chose almond and asked for butter. Ten minutes s later my beeper went off loudly. Collected my order...two raspberry croissants and no butter. It was mayhem. What has happened to customer service these days ?

The Christmas stuff was less than other years. It had the least than all other garden centres it use to be great. Ordered a coffee a cake and plain scones waited 40 mins to get them asked when they were coming. Got not long really then when finally did get them they gave me dry hard fruit scones and was told they had no plain left never coming back again I have always been going there but not anymore. When asked for refund got a stamp thing to have a free coffee next time really well I'm not ever. Going back

Went here for lunch as part of a large group on a Sunday in the conservatory area. Well staffed (though only at the start) and really tasty food (I had the beef burger followed by the Biscoff cheesecake). There were a couple of instance where we had dirty cutlery, but this was quickly sorted. Nice coffee too. Will be back!

I honestly don't know how to rate Squires as it is so hit and miss. You can go one day and get reasonable service, nice food and have a good time. You can go another and just be ignored by all the waiting staff and end up leaving. It mainly seems to be understaffed with those in charge not enjoying themselves. And one trip to the new coffee shop bit saw all the tables covered with dirty crockery and even a nappy on one (what is wrong with some people). Don't expect good service and you might be pleasantly surprised is probably my best advice. Sad as it could and should be so good.

We had an excellent lunch - fish and chips, happy to learn all gluten free (for everyone) so no worry of any cross contamination. Tasted wonderful and we really enjoyed our lunch. Only downside was the temperature if the restaurant, trying to eat with a winter coat on wasn't relaxing though !

Don?t bother! Very depressing place for a coffee and cake. Virtually no daylight, dark wallpaper, poor lighting. Roof space looks like it was forgotten about during refurbishment. Slow service, all I wanted was a scone and tea and still had to wait with a buzzer until I was ?called?, even though coffee shop was two thirds empty. Go to Woking Squires instead - so much nicer all round.

Went here for breakfast this morning. I ordered 2 poached eggs on 2 of toast with bacon and black pudding. When our table order arrived the waiter placed all the plates on the table but before he could walk off I told him my poached eggs were missing. He then walked off leaving us with no cutlery. I called a waitress over and she eventually brought cutlery. In the meanwhile our breakfasts were going cold. I had eaten one half of a slice of toast with the bacon and black pudding by the time my poached eggs arrived, by which time my toast was cold. One of the poached eggs was rock hard and the other was just about ok but both were cold by the time the new warm toast arrived.Something is drastically wrong with the way the food is served in this cafe. With hindsight I should have just sent my breakfast back and asked that it all came at once as ordered.Staff friendly but some proper management is obviously required here.

We love this garden centre. I have been visiting for years due to their aquatics section. The garden centre side is great and always has excellent gifts, although the products tend to Be a little pricey. Prices are inline with most other garden centres though so I can't be too critical on that one. I have more experience with the aquatics and have to say the staff in that area are well educated in aquatics and clearly employed for their credentials specific to aquatics and rightly so. In general the aquatics have everything you need, it's not like a converted nissin hut as some places can be, and the equipment/tank side of things always has good variety all presented nicely and easy to find what you need. Overall 5* for Badshot lea Squires.

Have always enjoyed seeing the Christmas set up every year along with the large range of decorations for sale.We often use the separate coffee and cake cafe from the restaurant due to large range of cakes and drinks for while family. Having popped in on a Saturday 3pm for cake and drink we noticed a third of tables still had old plates and cups piling up with what seemed very little staff to tidy up after. I had to move other people's stuff just to clear the table for my family. One lady serving behind the till who worked very hard but the long line of customers would warrant more staff serving. When cakes and coffee finally came out we noticed there was still very little activity with clearing tables for other customers.I would give more stars but the lack of staff meant long waiting times and a general untidiness to place. Despite running out of hot chocolate the Cakes and drinks were good

Was here to meet friends for lunch. Service was good! Shout out to Laura in the kitchen, I couldn't do your job. Thank you. We booked a table, which around this time of year, was the right thing to do. Thank you to all staff

Very nice garden centre, great selection of pets/aquatics, including reptiles. The children love it! Good cafe too

Visited the café bar around 10am. Surprised that you could NOT get a croissant or toasted tea cake unless you went to the full restaurant. Seems daft to me. Other than that all good.

Garden center was great, but the cafe refused to serve us breakfast when they said there menu was till 11:30. We were there at 11:25 and they don't serve lunch till 12:00. Apparently the manager has told staff they can't give out menus past 11:15. Really great day seeing Santa with the little one and the cafe not serving put a damper on the garden center as had to leave early as my little boy needed some food.
