Your online system is useless (1) it didn't tell me that the contact lens check would cost me £50 unlike the eye test which was free and (2) it didn't tell me that there was a 30 min gap between the eye check and the contact lens check. The staff were SUPERB. 5 stars!!!!!

I have tried to make an appointment twice today and the phone isn?t answered, despite holding on for over 3 minutes each time.

I visited the store 4 May for a pre booked appointment only to be told by a young lady at the desk that there had been an emergency and they were running about 30 minutes late. She was very calm and polite unlike grumpy old me and I waited and reviewed some frames. Within about 15 to 20 minutes a gentleman carried out the initial 10 minute tests. Again very calm friendly professional and polite. Sat down again and within 5 minutes I was greeted by the Optician. Smiling, polite, friendly, professional and very thoroughwho took the time to discuss all my issues and so I left abeit late with a new prescription. 10/10 to the team, well done to all the staff under difficult circumstances very satisfied customer and I never rec. eived a parking ticket.

This is my regular optician as I wear contact lenses and I have had good service for many years. Today I visited because of a potential problem with my eye. I was seen quickly and the examination was extremely thorough with many technical tests. The optician explained what he was doing each time and gave me information in a clear manner. His advice was reassuring and he answered any questions I had. I could not have received better service. Thank you.

Have now failed to action the updating of my contact lenses twice now, so that I've been overpaying now for 4 months. Were very apologetic when I raised this the first time, but then have failed to take any action again. The clinical service is fine though and the team have always been polite and friendly when I've come in to get my glasses fixed or updated.

We took our two boys to Boots today in Farnham for their eye test they are both autistic so its a big thing for them to go, and we had a bad experience somewhere else which doesn't help. The staff we really good the shop wasn't to busy, very calm place which we need for the boys. The eye test was really in depth and the optician took his time to explain every stage to the boys which really helped everyone. One of the boys needed glasses and the staff took their time with him and didn't try to sell us designer ones, they showed us the NHS glasses which we came back with. We will be using Boots from now on for all of the family.

I found Boots in Farnham very nice & very helpful. The eye test is thorough, which is more important than perceived customer service. I paid more than I expected, because I got two pairs with thin lenses, one transition lenses. When I have gone back with repairs (tightening hinges etc) they do them on the spot for no charge. Good with my children too. I don't post reviews generally but I thought I'd add balance to the first two rants.

Www a very rude woman - customer service over the phone is atrocious. Need training on how to deal with customers and not sound like a spoilt child who can't be bothered! I already ordered my glasses, one pair came back damaged so asked to change the lenses as I hadn't taken delivery of either pair yet but were very reluctant to do that even though the 2nd pair were actually free and you just pay extra for the thin lenses so instead of expecting to pay £79 for 2 pairs the cost was an additional £50/pair for slim lenses. She did reluctantly agree to give me £25 discount which was a bonus but her attitude on the phone to me was very defensive and very nonchalant! On the day I was in the store they were lovely well they would be when they're trying to sell you something but it's that same old lack of customer service values that will stop me going there again! Not a good experience. I went to Boots as I had a similar hard sell with Tesco! When I have my eyes tested I just want them tested, I don't want to purchase glasses there and they so I shouldn't feel obliged. Went in on the Saturday to collect them and the woman Denise who I spoke to on the phone about changing them didn't even acknowledge me and the guy also not serving looked gormless another friendly girl fitted my glasses but on getting them home the arms are all bent out of shape and not symmetricical. Very flimsy and one pair squeaks and they are so big that the lense touches my eye! Not been able to get back to the shop. For £189 for the 2 pairs I would expect a decent frame and a proper fitting and much better quality. Appalling service. The optician herself was great but the team needs work on their manners. Boots I am appalled. Should've gone to specsavers!

UNPROFESSIONAL, VERY RUDE STAFF, POOR SERVICE, DIRTY SHOP, NO APOLOGIES MADE FOR WASTING OUR TIME, WAITING AREA VERY POOR, NO READING MATTER APART FROM ONE OLD TACKY MAGAZINE, BAD MANAGEMENT, NO DECENT CUSTOMER CARE OR SERVICING, STAFF DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING - in essence the experience with Boots Optician Farnham was just absolutely dreadful. Never never again.
1) - they rang to say our contact lenses were ready to be collected. We made a special journey to their shop and when we arrived they couldn't find our prescription. So after 20 minutes we had to leave as the staff didn't have a clue as to where our prescription was. No apologies.
2) - they rang again to say that they had found the prescription could we pop in again to collect. We did and staff still not apologetic - could not say why - or how - or who was responsible for loosing the lenses.
3) - Bought two pairs of glasses from them (well, hard sale from their sales team) - BOTH EXPENSIVE designer glasses. One became unwearable because too heavy. When we returned to complain about this as I felt that the advice that I was given had not taken this into account, they just didn't want to know. We felt that they showed no interest.
4) - last phone call was to pick up our contact lenses prescription - however when we arrived we were told that they would not give them as we needed to have an eye test. Another wasted journey, and probably one of the rudest person we have ever met - treating us as if we were total idiots. It was so bad that we had to close our account in order never to have to deal with them again.
What a sad state of affair for a company that had such a good reputation. However we now understand that Boots Optician in Farnham are a franchise.
We went to Vision Express (almost across the road) and what a difference in the service. Charming manager, great choice of designer glasses, lovely shop, and they could not have been more helpful.
