Barbara was enmously patient, helpful and kind in sorting out a parcel which had been sent back and forth on 3 occasions because the previous staff member had not filled the form correctly. It was such a lovely surprise to have a patient lady who took the trouble to help me. Thank you, Barbara.

I came today to collect a parcel that had been delivered to my house while I had been out. I brought my ID and the DPD delivery note but the parcel wouldn't be released to me because the name on the parcel said Sweaty Betty not my name. I tried explaining that Sweaty Betty can't come to pick it up as it is a clothing company and is what is in the parcel. There was no help about how I go to collect my parcel or even get it redelivered. It is the most unsatisfactory service I think I have ever received considering I had a passcode with all the details on.

Inconsistent service. Agree with other contributors. Why moan about demise of local post offices when their service is so bad

Under staffed. Randomly closed whenever I go there.

Walked 20 mins in the rain to drop off a parcel only to be told that 17:30 is when the post office ?actually? closes as they don?t have any trained staff for the evening. Why advertise the closing time at 21:00 if they ?can?t always? be open until 9pm.McColls staff very unsympathetic and not interested - must be because they get this issue a lot.Very very frustrating.

Beyond rude and useless. We don?t live in a third world country yet turning up at both Esher and Hinchley Wood post offices it?s pot luck if they?re open, even during official opening hours and there?s not a cardboard sign saying ?gone to lunch?. This IS NOT acceptable. It?s NOT professional. It?s NOT ok. It?s weird, lazy, sloppy, diabolical. Like most people I drive up, parking especially, move a meeting or use my lunch hour to send an important package. Get there, the cardboard sign is up. Huge queue of people already formed. Lazy bloke at front counter who has all equipment needed to send post when counter is closed sighs and informs me he is due to go on a break in 5 minutes. Sending my package would take around 3 minutes. But he can?t be bothered. Absolutely USELESS. Royal Mail + McColl's : sort it out.

Disgusting staff, I was refused service because I arrived at 4:25pm (the closing time is apparently 5:30pm so I don't understand why this is a problem). He told me it is impossible to post anything by special delivery after 4:15pm even though my parcel was already stamped up. I waited around until 4:45pm and saw the postman arrive to pick up the special deliveries, no reason why it couldn't have been included! I'm assuming it is because he couldn't take a cut of the profits as I had used stamps.

very unprofessional and rude staff. I am not sure who really manage them but these people should have training who to deal with people first. I have never seen this level unpleasant experience in post office.

This post office should get zero stars for Robert (which he told me was his name and that he did not own this Post Office branch) as he is always rude and always unprofessional. We have all put up with him for the last 4 years (approx) but 2 weeks ago the Royal Mail lost a valuable parcel posted at the counter and Robert refused to provide a postal receipt when I tried to post the claim form. Instead he accused me of not having posted parcels at the post office counter, despite the fact that I had a proof of posting for the parcels; one of which arrived but the other did not. As with so many other reviews, the Post Office should fire him as the other lady serving at the counter for over 10 years is excellent. Bye Bye Robert, I say.

The manager of this post office is unlike any other I have been to. I took a completed 'bulk proof of postage form' which I have used in many branches for many years. He claimed to have never seen this form before. I politely showed him where this form could be downloaded from the Royal Mail website but he kept dismissing it. I then asked for proof of postage for some letters I had already put stamps on that I had purchased from another post office. Again I was told he couldn't do this. I explained how other branches do this but he was very dismissive, rude and unhelpful. Unfortunately the Esher branch gives Royal Mail a bad name and I certainly won't be returning.
