After a rubbish 18 months thanks to Covid, I booked for my partner and parents to visit for afternoon tea.Beautiful surroundings and fantastic, attentive staff.Plenty of options and flexibility for sandwiches, lovely warm fresh scones and delicious cakes.Great selection of teas and coffees. It may not be the cheapest place but you definitely get what you pay for.Enjoy a walk around the beautiful gardens afterwards to get rid of a few calories! The only thing that would've made the visit even more special was if the weather had been nice enough to sit outside by the moat. Five star, highly recommended.

From the moment we walked through the front door the welcome was friendly and consistent throughout our stay. The staff clearly take pride in and enjoy their customer care. Room service was also efficient.Valentino was an exceptional host in the stunning Estate grill restaurant and elevated our experience with a wonderful history of valentines day and how people in the old days where forbidden to love.

Last week a friend, who lives in Windsor she suggested having a coffee and pastry at Great Fosters while I was in town, delighted to have had the opportunity to see this magical place. Please stay or stop by.Great Fosters, a five-star hotel and Michelin-starred restaurant, offers a treat for all five senses. Nestled within its Tudor estate are incredible gardens that captivate visitors with their horticultural splendor. Meticulously shaped garden hedges resemble works of art, while the presence of a Saxon moat serves as a poignant reminder of the historical significance of this grand home. Additionally, the gardens reveal other well-preserved and unexpected gems, further enhancing the charm and allure of this remarkable destination. Whether indulging in a cup of coffee or tea or booking one of their amazing rooms, the experience at Great Fosters is sure to delight. Thanks for the recommendation Amy!

TERRIBLE - not 5 star experience at all! AVOID and go to Coworth Park! The experience on Boxing Day when I took my cherished parents and husband was beyond disappointing - avoid!!! Upon our arrival, we were promptly and bluntly informed by the management that, as non-residents, we were unwelcome on Boxing Day due to a policy restricting access solely to resident guests. This policy was not communicated on the website, and it has never been an issue during our customary Boxing Day visits every year.Despite our pleas and explanation that we didn't seek an elaborate dining experience, even expressing our contentment with teas and coffees, we were denied access. As a small compromise, we requested to use the cocktail bar, which was empty upon our arrival and cold! While being the only guests there, we encountered further disappointment. The food we ordered arrived cold, the warm bread selection was both cold and stale, missing butter and balsamic dipping dressing turned out to be oil with a drip of balsamic vinegar. Our request for balsamic vinegar was answered with a waiter supplying us with Sarson's malt chip vinegar. The rolls served were unappetising, and the small morning rolls that might have been leftovers from the morning service. The service was notably slow, reaching a point where a simple request for a slice of bread with the whitebait was met with hesitation, which was rather embarrassing given the esteemed reputation of your hotel. The mince pies had no ingredients plaque placed next to them and as a non drinker, I had to ask the member of staff whether the mince pies contained any alcohol. Regardless of this, there could have been people that might have other allergies and needed to know the ingredients which could have caused severe health problems to some people. Your member of staff didn?t know the ingredients!Consequently, we opted to discontinue our dining experience out of concern that our main courses would be similarly unsatisfactory. This led to the unfortunate situation of having to relocate my parents to another hotel for dinner, which wasn't the impression I intended to create as their host and someone very dear to them. More of a 3 star hotel - if that!

Great Fosters saved our Christmas! My family had issues with our Airbnb and had to seek out alternate accommodations. The Great Fosters staff set us up with three great rooms, and were incredibly engaged with our wellbeing. My wife and I have a five month old, and they set us up with a travel crib, brought room service on nights it wasn't offered, and assisted us whenever we had questions. The hotel is beautiful, well kept, and would make an awesome wedding venue. Would highly recommend Adam and his team. We will certainly be back when we visit my grandma in England again. Thank you, Great Fosters' team.

Tudor taster menu was fantastic, loved every dish. The chefs came out to explain the dishes and their provenance. The service was impeccable, efficient and friendly. The Tudor room was stunning, albeit a little cold temperature wise. A wonderful meal out with family and friend.

I had standard room. It was clean but quite small. There was enough space to walk around a bed and fit in small desk and side table. Bathroom also very small but clean. Iron and ironing board was in the room. Very handy. Rooms are in various buildings on the site and had to walk through courtyard to get to mine. Nice place to stay if you like traditional British Hotels but I would recommend choosing superior rooms for space. To enter the hotel you need to use tiny doors. Cute, but not very practical if you carry a suitcase.

Really stunning hotel and overnight stay before an early morning flight from LHR. We wanted somewhere near the airport with space for the dog to have a nice walk before our flight. The history of the hotel was incredible, room well appointed and very comfortable bed. Service ding on the review because of some sass at the front desk and very little attention/slow service in the bar.The grounds and overall stay were amazing. Will return and hope for slightly better service and friendliness from the front desk in particular.Huge shout out to concierge Matt who made up for any shortcomings in the front of house.
