My favourite cafe. Lovely staff and delicious scones and soup. Boys love the hot sausage rolls. All profits for charity too.

Chickpea curry was more like a peppery stew, watery and dark brown. Served with a chunk of brown bread. Macaroni was mushy and tasted only of flour. Decent side salad.
Leek and potato stew was watery, tasted bitter, and had no seasoning. Coffee better than usual.

We went today usually very good, but today they got our order wrong and overcharged us, a young man served us he had dark hair quite thickset. I doubt we will get money back. After the wrong order was delivered to us we gave up. But saying that the food was fine. Perhaps the person taking the order was new but he overcharged us and we got wrong food

Popped in for lunch, the staff (including the chef) were very kind and friendly but the food was incredibly poor quality. We came as a family and we actually appreciate a small menu when executed well, but there was so much waste, and what probably started out as decent ingredients was reduced to a bland puddle with highly processed vegan spreads (on a sausage dish!) and tasteless translucent gravy. It was truly terrible in a kind of comedy sketch way. It would be much more cost effective to use fewer but good quality ingredients. They do jacket potatoes well, so why not make that a speciality and get a bit inspired with different fillings? The cakes also looked pretty dry, seems the theme of the cafe is wasteful quantity over quality, and I really hope they manage to turn it around because it could be a charming little place.

OK usually can get busy, with resultant slow service. Expensive.

My wife and I ordered cream tea. We had the hot cross scones, which were the only ones available. The scones were very dry and hard, not fresh at all. The cross bit on the top was particularly hard and indigestible. Very disappointing, though the cream was nice.

Nice place but Food & Beverages prices in National Trust are a National disgrace especially for the average quality products that you can see arriving in enormous boxes from well known food factories.£3,55 for a take away americano, £3.30 for a small flapjack, £7,50 for a small bowl of canned soup?

There were intermittent power cuts when I visited which closed tills so not the best time to visit! Popped over the small cafe instead for a quick bite ..

Lovely caffe with simple but good quality and delicious food. The coffees and cakes are also very good. There are always vegan and glutenfree options avalaible, both for cakes, snacks and mains. There is free, refillable tap water available. It does get very busy sometimes which means it can get a bit messy but staff are very nice. Toilets avaliable and dogs welcome.Vegetarian options: Excellent vegetarian optionsDietary restrictions: Vegan and gluten free optionsParking: Free for membersKid-friendliness: Very kid-friendly. Kid sized lunch traysWheelchair accessibility: Accessible

Superb selection of lunch foods. Also the cheese and fruit scones are the best I have had anywhere. Staff are very helpful and cheerful and it?s great sitting outside chatting to friends looking at the plants and dogs.

The food here is always so tasty. It does take a while to get through the queue to order your food. When we went there were boxes sitting on some of the tables. Overall it is always a pleasant experience

Nice large café serving the usual light meals, drinks and snacks.Plenty of seating both inside and out, not too busy when I visited so there wasn't the usual long queue.

What a mess. Came here for lunch the other day, was squeezed in like a sardine, when my supposed Christmas Dinner arrived it was dry and clearly shop bought (tasted like processed meat) in a roll. 2 sprouts 2 carrots, 2 tiny potatoes, blinding. Got the impression they couldn?t handle the footfall and just scrimped on the amounts, then I tried the food, oh dear. What a massive shame as last year wasn?t too bad. Never again unfortunately, could have got a better meal in a tin from a low cost supermarket
